For once, this hall was devoid of traffic, though people were beginning to appear in the adjacent areas. Ken simply looked on and ran, seeing little point in staying in one place.
Gin didn't waste any time as he crept down the hall. He finally had to turn his light on though, as there weren't many others out and about just yet. He scanned the hallway carefully, though he wasn't too worried about monsters and other nasties just yet.
Moving through the darkness wasn't anything new to Allen, and it was easy for him to make good time. He didn't really need the portable torch, and it was much faster to move without it. His left eye glowed dimly in the blackness, but didn't stay long. The sooner he could get to Rinali, the sooner they could sort things out.
"Let's see," she mumbled to herself, mostly to keep her thoughts straight. "They should be around here somewhere...."
Turning a right, Harley moved down the corridor at a careful pace. She honestly wanted to hurry, but she already knew too much rushed activity too soon would just get her dizzy, and she be on the ground before she even realized it. Best to save her strength for when she got her babies out. Then... ooohhh then would there be some hell to pay. Moreso if they had so much as a scratch on their darling little faces.
It wasn't very long until her flashlight illuminated the stairs she'd been expecting to find. She had yet to make it upstairs and was a bit unsure of what could be up there. But if that's where her babies were, that where she'd go.
"Just hold on a little longer," she prayed. "Mommy's on her way."
[From here]When Crane finally arrived in the main hallway, below the stairs, he paused as he noticed a woman stumbling around. His first thought was that it was a drunk person, but he doubted that it would be possible to get alcohol in a place like this, so it had to be something else. Numb muscles from sedatives, perhaps. Then in that case, the person was asking to be made into a meal, and deserved the fate that waited them. Upon second glance, he realized that she looked familiar

"Huh?" She turned at the sound of her name and blinked up at the face in an attempt to focus more quickly. Oh. It was that guy: the guy with the same name as Professor Crane, but wasn't really Professor Crane or even a professor at all really, so maybe she was supposed to call him Mr. Crane, but that seemed too stuffy a name to call someone, especially...
...Wait, what was she doing? Oh, right.
"Oh. Hey, Crane-y," she said, voice much distant as though she were speaking to herself rather than another person. "Guess I don't, huh? Don't feel too good either... Docs shot me up earlier, but I gotta go upstairs... If I don't go... they might hurt them..."
Her sentences were slowly dropping in volume as she went along, turning into a mutter by the time she'd gotten to the last word. It was so strange. Her best friend in the world left her to rot away in this place, but here this guy she barely knew was being so nice to her. He almost spoke with that same quiet tone the Professor Crane back home used with her. Of course, thinking that

He'd had to strain in order to hear her correctly, but he wasn't certain what to think of what he did hear. "'Them?'" he asked, raising an eyebrow, choosing not to remark on her choice of a nickname for him. It looked like he had otherwise been right on the mark, though. She'd been sedated, and was trying to get out anyway.
"Anyway, I might not have a weapon, but I'm headed towards what it supposedly a place of safety upstairs, to look around. And I could certainly run better than you in your condition," he commented. Crane had no problem admitting what battles he couldn't win and leaving them. Even if that had sounded a bit mean, he certainly believed it to be true. Then again, she did have a weapon, but he doubted she could wield it as well as she thought while fighting off the sedatives. Just like he doubted she could get too upset over his comment while in a drugged state

To change the subject, Raine asked, "Would you mind if I watched you with Forte? Obviously, it's been a while since I was taught any self-defense." She wasn't going on kid herself on that; she didn't want a repeat of what that woman had done to her.
Sheena turned around and started walking backwards so she could see Raine a bit better, confident that she wouldn't hit anything as long as no one stupidly ran out in front of her. She blinked a little and cocked her head.
"Yeah... Like I'm going to tell you no when I'm teaching someone who may as well be the biggest baby ever. Who knows how much he'd wail if he stubbed his toe during training." She rolled her eyes. "I'm also really worried about him. Aside from the whole robot thing."
The ninja scratched the back of her neck. "I think he got a visitor or something. Did you see his rambling post about doppelgangers on the board?"
"Yes. Honestly, having had them a week ago, I'm still not certain what to think of them." She could have lived without seeing her "mother", but the child that looked like Genis... she just wanted to be there for him, true identities be damned.
"Though despite not being fully human, at least I had the advantage of keeping my real form... I can see why he would be so disoriented."
The ninja glanced back over her shoulder before looking back. "I dunno... Forte seems to think he might not be the real Forte because of this Wily guy." she said. "I... want to help but... well, I'm not sure what to do if he doesn't think he's the real him. It'd really suck if that was true and someone just stuck his memories in another body."
Sheena shivered at the thought. "I just creeped myself out."
As usual, there were several others already moving through this hall. Tonight wasn't a time to stop and look for someone off by themselves, however. Now he had proper plans.
