Manticore moved through the hallway quickly, keeping an eye out for familiar faces or the legendary danger but finding just a whole lot of empty hall. Being as he was wearing his costume but his roommate hadn't been given whatever clothing was appropriate to Tanaka's homeworld, Manticore didn't want to stick around long enough for anyone in more typical Landel's garb to ask him questions he didn't have answers to.

Tanaka didn't get far down the hallway before he realized that he couldn't see nearly as well in the darkness of the nighttime Institute as he had expected. Cursing his human eyes, Tanaka continued down the (relatively straight) hallway, towards the block exit. Thankfully, he seemed to see lights up ahead - other patients with some means of lighting, no doubt. Hopefully, when he got to the place where they were passing by, one of them would direct him to... M39? 37?

Apparently, the Shofixti would have plenty of excuses for curses tonight.

The freaky laughter over the intercom both terrified and enraged Kaiji. What was that? What was that? Was the overly cheery and benevolent guy who spoke through the speakers all day showing his true colors? He definitely sounded like the same person, only... Crazy. Crazy in the 'makes you want to crawl under a rock and hide forever' kind of way. Kaiji knew crazy, and some would even argue that he was - at least he was allegedly the good kind, or at least the reasonably well-intentioned kind. He knew well that the two types tended to clash violently when they crossed paths ( ... )

With no sonic screwdriver, no squareness gun, and no discernable way out other than the sturdy, locked door, the Doctor had almost resigned himself to being trapped in the room by the second time the intercom came to life.

Admittedly, he was a little lost about some of the contents of the announcement. The man on the intercom must have been the "Martin Landel" that Kenshin had told him about, but who was Jill? What was obvious, however, was that there was already a rather marked difference between night and day, if the nature of the announcements was anything to go by. Bidding his new roommate a quick farewell, the Doctor headed out of the room when he heard the click of it unlocking, determined to do something now that he had free reign, now that he didn't have a nurse to lead him only to assigned places.

Maybe one would show up and claim he wasn't supposed to be out, but Martin Landel had said something about exploring. Exploring was exactly what the Doctor intended to do. Explore, and find the TARDIS, key or no key ( ... )

While their first encounter hadn't been much, it had already excelled beyond Jade's expectations as he watched his new roommate leave the room. It was a shame that they didn't have much of a chance to converse amongst one another, but there were always other chances for that. Of course, this man could very well meet the same fate as the last two, so maybe it'd be best if he kept his distance for now.

Ah, but that wouldn't do much good if he was ever planning to create alliances. In the end the colonel sighed, bending over and reaching under his mattress for one of the several pipes he had stashed there. It was the longest length that was offered and Jade gave an experimental swing before nodding slightly.

While it was a rather sloppy weapon, he'd rather not take his chances when it came to arming his Majesty. And so, after gathering his radio in case an announcement came on, Jade left the room and made his way down the hallway.

[From here.]After making sure his Majesty was properly prepared for the night, Jade wasted no time walking back to his room, all the while mentally preparing what was needed for what he was hoping to accomplish before his time expired. He'd taken the opportunity to look over his notes earlier that day, constructing a proper diagram for the process and making sure it was correct. Of course, it was likely that the entire experiment in itself would fail horridly anyway, but the point of carefully organizing it in the first place was to make sure that didn't happen, wasn't it ( ... )
