[From here.]

After making sure his Majesty was properly prepared for the night, Jade wasted no time walking back to his room, all the while mentally preparing what was needed for what he was hoping to accomplish before his time expired. He'd taken the opportunity to look over his notes earlier that day, constructing a proper diagram for the process and making sure it was correct. Of course, it was likely that the entire experiment in itself would fail horridly anyway, but the point of carefully organizing it in the first place was to make sure that didn't happen, wasn't it?

After all, he'd been warned of the risks that were tacked onto the procedure itself, and had no intention of failing that night. And so this was why he went straight to work the moment he reached the empty room, dipping his hand underneath the mattress of his bed and pulled out several pipes he'd gathered a few nights ago. He was careful to set everything to where it vaguely resembled the weapon he was planning to make, creating an arrow-like shape in the end to signify the front of the spear.

Yes, a spear. While a sword would have been a wiser choice, a spear wasn't all that complex in comparison, and so it seemed to be the perfect candidate in his opinion.

He gave the entire thing an idle glance before picking up his notebook and flipping through his pages, ripping out the desired sheet and placing it underneath one of the pipes. And with that Jade positioned himself before the pile as he knelt against the floor, mentally preparing himself with what could occur between now and when he was finished.

He acted without warning, clapping his hands together before pushing them down into the floor in a manner he'd seen Roy do, concentrating on bending and twisting the metal to his will. Jade made no reaction as a flash of light appeared, even if that in itself was much weaker in comparison to the latter's as the metal slowly transformed.

Yet in the middle of the transmutation the light disappeared completely, and the colonel was left kneeling there before exhaustion overtook him and nearly collapsed into the floor. Jade quickly caught himself, however, using his arms as support while he took those several minutes to catch his breath. Sweat seemed to be pouring profusely down his forehead, body racking at the amount of energy he had to expel in order to get to how for he'd gotten. However, as he finally took the chance to look down at his work, it was safe to say that he'd left the job undone, the entire thing only loosely connected while the tip of the spear was only beginning to form.

It took a few minutes for him to catch his breath, pushing himself back into a sitting position before reaching forward and examining the half-completed weapon with small smile.

Well it seemed as if this old dog could still learn a few new tricks after all.
