Nightshift 32: M-B Block Hallway

[From here.]The Colonel found it tempting to check on his Majesty before he continued on his way to Roy’s room, but with Guy having been roomed nearby he really saw no use in further tangling himself in trifling matters. Of course, that wasn’t to say that he was completely comfortable with the idea, but he had a strict schedule he needed to follow ( Read more... )

It was still early, and the flocks of noisy prisoners had yet to really up any momentum. Aidou kept to the shadows on soundless feet, more focussed on his surroundings than ever before, and being extra cautious in not being spotted.

If he were a cigarette, where would he be hiding?

Tyki moved into the next hallway, sweeping the beam of his flashlight around only to reveal similar hallways of which he had just come from. There were also two doors. He knew one led to the hallway, though he had no idea where the other led to. He didn't feel like checking out, though. He had something more important to do.

The message on the bulletin board had told him the staff had some smokes, and logic told him they probably had some kind of office around here. If those doctors had any cigarettes, chances are that a few might be left in there.

Except he had no idea where any of those offices were located. He almost groaned out loud at the realization that he probably had to search the entire building (or rely on luck, but he wasn't exactly the luckiest person. There was a reason he cheated at poker).

But it was either that, or no cigarettes. With that conclusion, Tyki continued on his way.

[ooc: From here.]

Bennet had reached the main hallway of his dormitory block. After looking around a bit, shone the flashlight on his map and took a moment to decide on where he would go next. Based on what the Doctor had talked about, it seemed like the “Chapel” was the place to be for that night.

Where he better armed and in the company of others, he would’ve considered making the trip. Unfortunately, neither of the two conditions had been satisfied, and he would keep himself to the first floor for the time being.

After observing the map, he figured out his next destination, opening the doors that led outside the dorm rooms.

A few patients were exiting through various doorways as Kunzite slipped into the hallway. Again, empty, he thought, though he could feel himself mouthing the words silently. Now to wait on my fellow club members; I wonder if they have a sense of how much material we need to gather, if there even IS a limit... The warrior strolled over to the door leading to the bathrooms and waited patiently, keeping a vigilant eye out for any unusual disturbances.

Zexion spotted Kunzite immediately, recognizing the man from the meeting earlier. If Alex showed up with similar speed, this metal gathering business could end quickly and they would be free to explore elsewhere. The Nobody was already thinking about abandoning the History Club; with a good number of the Organization present, including another senior member, it would likely be more useful to work with his comrades.

The Nobody sidled on up next to Kunzite. He didn't say anything, instead pulling out his journal to begin noting down information. He should have copied off the bulletin board earlier, he reasoned, but for now the focus was metal.

It was a total bitch carrying things and only having one hand free. Conklin had tucked his journal with the map in it between the arm that held his cane and his body; the folded wheelchair was dragged along behind him with the other.

There were his two groupmates for the night. "Good evening," he said in a tone that made the Sahara look like the Atlantic.

[OOC: Sorry for the fail in not posting soon enough :(]

First the one, then the other of his "teammates" arrived in the pitch-darkness. Kunzite let his eyes dart over as the first man sat down to write in his journal, mimicking his quietness and merely nodding toward him, whether or not he would perceive it and respond in kind. The second arrived some minutes afterwards, and the warrior could see why; dragging all kinds of paraphernalia with him, he was highly hindered, and though Kunzite wished to not waste any more time, he hardly felt hospitable enough to help him with his burden.

"Likewise," Kunzite responded just as coolly, then turned to the door to the bathroom and pointed at it with his lantern. "We'll start here, and see what the night gives us in terms of surprises." He casually stepped past his companions and into the next area.

Sanji paused in this hall. Zoro would have to come through here if he'd left his room - if he hadn't already. If he'd already missed the idiot he might as well leave him to his own stupid devices. He'd tried to be helpful!

Shitty stupid marimo.

Zoro walked down the corridor, looking a little lost. He could've sworn the way out of the hall was the other way but there were no others doors besides that one leading to room 71 and...

"Eh?" Zoro spotted Sanji at the end of the hall. He approached the chef, full helmet tucked under one arm while his flashlight remained off while loosely clenched in the other hand. "You lost or something cook?"

The chef gave Zoro a baleful look before blowing a puff of smoke in the swordsman's general direction. "I'm right where I'm supposed to be," he replied. "Making sure you go the right way. We'd actually like to be able to have this meeting/party thing, you know."

He glanced down at Zoro's helmet, raising his one visible eyebrow. He supposed that was one way to carry things, but he wasn't going to let the man get away with it without a comment. "Using your head as a weapon too, now? Or couldn't you find a purse?"

Often used to violently responding to any of Sanji's similarly worded questions, Zoro merely smirked this time. "Nah. I figured you'd need it more 'cause you seem to like getting your ass handed to you. So I brought it along."
