He was a little annoyed to be taken away from his conversation with Edgeworth by the nurse who came to get him. He'd been enjoying it, and enjoyable conversations for the sake of conversation had been few and far between in the last few months. He didn't even think that she noticed Hallelujah's sharper voice from the way she prattled on.

The room he was taken to was a different one to the one he'd woken up in, but the nurse guided him inside like we need the bitch's help and set out a tray on the little desk at one side of the room. "Now dear, your roommate will be here soon so try and make friends with him, alright."

He nodded, smiling politely at the women we should just kill her before going to pick up the tray and sit on the bed with it. This felt far too much like his cell on the Ptolemaios, the padded room where all he could do was sit and think and argue with his other self.

Yuuhi'd wanted to approach Sakura the following shift, but someone else had found her first. He was a bit too taken aback to try to bring up what she'd mentioned in mixed company, so he'd have to wait until this evening to speak with her. He had a feeling he'd be able to find her before Kurogane, even if it was only a few precious minutes, that would be enough.

Just how much did she know? If it was as he feared, perhaps it would be better if he did stay in this world when the others left. Kurogane had to be wrong, they couldn't possibly want him to be anywhere near them if they knew about ( ... )

Allelujah looked up sharply when the door opened, reflexes expecting some kind of attack, even though he knew it was doubtful yet. But people had been talking about attacks during the night and who decided where the line was? Better to be wary rather than dead. But it was just the nurse, leading in a tall fair haired man after her.

He returned the smile that was offered to him with a hesitant one of his own. He seemed friendly enough although they both knew that that wasn't necessarily the case. "I'm called Allelujah," he replied, watching with concern as the man maneuvered himself with the crutches. Maybe he should have offered to help? But no, he seemed capable and it wouldn't do to offend him on the first night. But what if he was offended for ALlelujah not offering? "I'm pleased to meet you. I hope you don't mind that I started eating already..." He wasn't sure what the protocol was after all.

"Nice to meet you too," Yuuhi replied, all smiles as usual. He seemed like a nice enough person. Certainly nicer than Saix had been, though it was fun to tease him.

"It's alright, don't worry at all about it," he said as he started in on his meal. "This isn't anything formal, just dinner. Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you before, but then, I haven't been here very long myself."

And so, twice in one day, Logan had gone from feeling even smaller than he already was, to being once again confident and reassured. Things weren't as bad as he'd led himself to believe, and he had just as much of a fighting chance as he'd ever had in this place, especially with good people on his side. The trip back to his room was swift and uneventful, and he actually took the time to thank his nurse for the evening meal, rather than simply ignore her as he usaully did.

The grizzled Canadian mutant wasted no time in ploughing through his meal as he awaited the arrival of his roommate. They had a lot to discuss, after all.

While Peter had been overjoyed to see Harry again, the reunion had tired him out, and he had decided to spend the fourth shift taking it easy in the Sun Room. He hadn't exactly been expecting to run into someone who should have been dead, after all.

As the nurse led him back to his room, he was glad to know that he actually did have some information he could give Logan this time, not to mention filling him in about Harry. He was also curious about what his roommate would be up to tonight, though he was sure he would get the whole scoop soon. Unlike him, Logan didn't seem the sort to keep secrets from friends.

I guess we are friends now. It was strange -- the last thing he had been expecting to do in this place was buddy up with anyone ( ... )

Logan had already finished eating by the time Peter had arrived, and was sitting relaxedly on his bed, idly picking his teeth with the plastic fork he'd been given to eat with. He was thinking over the day's discussions and took a second to register the younger man's presence ( ... )

Glad to see that Logan was in a good mood himself (or as good as their moods could be considering their situation), Peter started in on his food as the older man explained.

While he was sure Logan could take care of himself, he wasn't too secure with the fact that his roommate was heading off with someone he wasn't that comfortable with. Then again, it wasn't like they had the best group of people to choose from as companions, though Peter knew there were some decent people around just based off of random people he had spoken to during the dayshift.

"Yeah, don't worry about me. You're right about a friend of mine showing up, and he's pretty reliable." That wasn't entirely true, as his history with Harry had gotten pretty messy, but he was certain that from here on out Harry could be trusted. Besides, there was no reason to worry Logan. "His name's Harry Osborn... I don't know if you know some other version of him, but he's my best friend." He felt like he should point out that Eddie wasn't a friend at all, but he got the feeling ( ... )

Ah, and as always, the nurses arrived to seperate her from a rather good conversation. How irritating. She was starting to think that they did it on purpose! Admittedly they probably did to try and keep them from forming alliances, but it didn't seem to be working so far considering the number of groups which had come together. Ah well, her conversation with Lia had given her something to think about at least.

She entered her room and went to curl up on her bed with the tray, taking a good look at the food before trying it. Tasted good enough to her, even if she was a little disappointed not to have the same as last night. Familiar was good sometimes, even if she enjoyed the change. She had to wonder if her elusive roommate would be awake tonight.

Well, that had been an interesting conversation, Kenren had to admit. So that was Rhode's relative, whatever brand of relative they wished to call it. He seemed like an interesting guy. Kenren might have to meet with him again sometime. At least the kid had someone there to keep her out of trouble (maybe, he wasn't sure if Tyki was gonna' be any better than Rhode at staying unsedated). It would be something to see at least.

He entered his room, making charming small talk with the nurse to make her blush, before he went to sprawl on his bed for a while. He'd eat in a bit, and at least he'd slept for some of last night, he'd just wait for his roommate to arrive first.

Zelnick was quiet when his nurse led him back to his room, musing over Fwiffo. What black sense of humor brought a Spathi here, of all places? They already thought everything was trying to eat them...

Brooding as only he could-- that is, poorly; he wasn't cut out for the mindset-- he nodded greeting to his roommate before settling down at his desk for dinner. Protein, starch, sugar, vitamins... they're fattening us up, he thought morbidly, setting in to the meat without much enthusiasm.

Well... that was odd. Not that Kenren had spent much time talking to his roommate (he had been kinda' distracted last night to be honest), but he did seem kind of subdued. He watched for a few moments as Zelnick started to eat, looking thoroughly, well, not miserable, but preoccupied? Absent? Something like that anyway.

"Hey," Kenren finally greeted him, reaching for his own tray and starting to tuck in. It was pretty good and he'd never really thought about how much meat humans ate. "You seem kinda' out of it. Something on your mind?"

Startled out of his reverie, Zelnick looked up suddenly, and a bit blankly-- it took him a moment to process what Kenren had said.

When he did, he laughed sheepishly. "It shows? Yeah, it's... an old friend showed up," he explained. "Old and loyal and a surprisingly good subordinate. But..."

At a loss for words, he gestured with his fork at the room-- and by implication, Landel's Institute. "This place," he sighed, hoping that would be enough for Kenren to get the idea, and ate a bite of mashed potatoes.

His food was getting cold but he didn't care.

Clark Kent sat cross-legged on his bed, ignoring the cooling dinner and dessert laid out on his desk altogether as he stared down at the closed folder in his hands. With everything that'd happened today - like Claire, like finding out that she didn't remember him or Landels at all - he'd almost forgotten his own personal little mission. But now that he had "his" personal file in his hands after all the trouble of breaking the locks on Dr. Burroughs' file cabinets, Clark found himself suddenly unable to just do the easy thing and open it.

It's all fake. None of it was real. He couldn't explain Lex's behavior, but Clark believed in his memories. You don't have real proof it's you. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, the farmboy went for it. He opened the file. It looked pretty official, complete with a picture of him that he certainly didn't remember having taken. The guy in the picture looked like him alright; a tall kid with dark brown hair and blue eyes, just like his...and ( ... )

Though there was potentially some measure of pride to be taken in the fact that he was slowly getting the hang of this "being social" thing, Leon really only felt tired and frustrated after a full day of talking to people and trying to be nice and all that bullshit. He'd even made small talk! It just all seemed so pointless.

Except that he had sort of made a potential new ally, all on his own, which was something.

Unfortunately, there was still his roommate to deal with before going out for the night, and Leon was most annoyed to discover that the big, stupidly optimistic lunk looked like someone had killed his puppy dog or something. What if he wanted to talk?

Picking at his meal, determined to eat it even if all he really wanted was the sweet, sweet apple pie, Leon grunted a vague greeting to Clark, hoping it wouldn't be taken as an invitation for conversation.

[...Big stupidly optimistic lunk. *lolled*]

Unfortunately Clark did want to talk. If anything, it'd distract him from the confusion and doubt he was feeling over the patient file, and besides, it'd be rude to just ignore Leon like that. He perked up as the other patient sat down and grunted something that could almost be mistaken for a "hi".

"Hey," Clark said back. He tried to force a friendly smile but it was a bit week. He lay the patient file beside him on the bed gingerly, like it might bite, and sat down at his own desk, glancing over at his shoulder at Leon. "Rough day?"

What day wasn't in Landels? But if there was anything Clark could do to try to help or be useful...well, it couldn't hurt to offer if that ever came up.

Leon left off dubiously eyeing the vegetables (steamed veggies could turn out nicely or horribly, and it was really a fine line between the two, so he was hesitant to just bite into them), Leon looked over at Clark and firmly repressed the urge to sigh. "I've had worse. Just tired. ... You?"
