Night 59: Stairwell by Waiting Room/Lobby 1

Oct 24, 2011 19:57

[Coming from here.]Daemon slipped from the hallway and into the stairwell, starting the climb to the second floor. His gaze searched the shadows and he'd made no more than three steps up when he went carefully still, holding up a hand to halt Renji as well. The chittering came from above their heads, quiet but definitely there, the sound familiar ( Read more... )

"Bit of variety for you here, Threepwood," murmured Javert wryly as they moved into the stairwell proper. "Had enough of exploded cat; spider ought to be positively refreshing in comparison, oughtn't it?

"Frankly," he continued, scanning the stairs ahead, "I'm not certain we'll be needed upstairs. That said, Mlle. Skye was of the opinion that we search the halls as a precaution, and I must say I agree with her."

"Whoa," That was a lot of blood. Goku's eyes dragged up and down every wall and surface of the stairwell. "Someone musta killed a dinosaur." How else could you explain that much meat and gore all over the place? What a waste of a good meal, too!

It was hard to concentrate on the correct scent what with all this other bodily fluid everywhere, but unlike most nights here, his nose was much more keen. He felt just like his old self again tonight!

Taura had followed odder hunches than Son Goku's scent trail, so she jogged after him with the first untarnished grin she'd worn that evening.  So far, so good, and while her arm was tingling, it didn't seem to be quite as bad as the previous night.

She took the stairs three at a time, bouncing past Goku and then holding the door for him.

Ema winced a little when the new addition to their excursion hit the floor. As a creature with little grace, she could relate--she would have ended up slipping and falling herself if it hadn't been for Mr. Javert. He seemed to be all limbs, to boot, so that probably didn't help him much.

After introductions, Ema gave a small wave as she squinted up at the much-taller man as if to try and make out more than a vague silhouette in the dark. Scientifically speaking, it didn't actually help at all, but the behavior was almost automatic. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Threepwood." If it weren't for all the gore everywhere, she would have started asking him questions, starting with his profession. A pirate seemed like an odd companion for an inspector. Also, he didn't look like any pirate she'd ever heard of. Aren't pirates supposed to be meaner? And what was this about being able to hold everything in a pair of pants? Wasn't that scientifically impossible ( ... )

Guybrush followed Javert and Ema into the stairwell, keeping both his light and his sword out for now. With the way the hallways he'd passed through were (newly redecorated in shades of red and furnished with plenty of corpses maimed beyond recognition), he was willing to bet every doubloon he had that the upstairs was no better ( ... )
