No, something was different. It wasn't until she reached the next hallway that Anise realized, but she could feel fonons - in the air, and in her body. It took a moment to process this, but as she thought about it, she quickly grew excited. Could this mean

By the time Kairi reached the meeting spot, she was quite sure that something terrible had happened, and was a bundle of worry. She knew she couldn't just leave the girl she was supposed to meet and search for Sora and Riku of course, but she still was worried about them. They're fine, she chided herself as she jogged down the hallway with her sword in hand. She would just have to keep telling herself that.
She had never met Sonia before, but she had been able to read the bulletin before and read what the girl looked like. And then she heard her name in the darkness, called by an unfamiliar female voice.
Heading towards the voice, Kairi lifted her flashlight and looked towards the girl, giving a small smile. "Are you Sonia? I'm Kairi. It's nice to finally meet you."
She couldn't see Soma anywhere - perhaps she hadn't arrived yet.

"You too." She looked down at the flashlight in her other hand. She couldn't really aim her weapon properly with one hand. Kairi had her hands full with that sword, too, so she couldn't ask the girl if she'd mind holding it for her. "Wait just a moment," she said quickly, then raced back to her room on the corner, entering it briefly to drop off her flashlight. Now that her powers were back, she also didn't think they'd need two flashlights between them. Sonia then returned to Kairi's side and began to focus on their surroundings again. "Where's Soma?"

However, at the mention of Soma, Kairi frowned. "I don't know. Maybe she's taking a little longer to get to the meeting point?" Which, really, made no sense, since they were all in the same block, and the meeting point was only a few moments away from all of their rooms. Still, the princess was willing to give the other girl the benefit of the doubt.
Unless she wasn't in her room?
She frowned. "You don't happen to know Soma's room number, do you? Just to make sure she's okay."

Sonia kept an eye out for signs of movement around them while Kairi spoke, but her frown returned at the girl's answer. Maybe the alarms that had been going off earlier had made Soma think it was too dangerous to go out.
"No, I don't," she said, her frown deepening. She guessed Soma might have fallen asleep, but as a Freedom Fighter, the princess expected a lot more of her teammates. Besides, how could anyone be asleep after that? (...Anyone that wasn't Mokona.)
And then it hit her. Of course! Why hadn't she thought of it before? "You don't think she's one of the prisoners Aguilar picked to help him, do you?"

A loud skittering noise rang out across the hallway, and Sonia turned around as fast as she could to see something heading for them. When she was finally sure what they were, she gasped and gently bumped backwards into Kairi. Giant rats!? "Stand back!" she shouted to her companion, jumping forward.
Spin and win time!Sonia started spinning on her heel at sonic speed, causing a small, bright pink tornado to suddenly appear where she had been standing, though she was careful to move away from Kairi and bend it forward to meet the monsters; she didn't want to hurt them, but to disorient them long enough so others could leave the area. But what had been an ability she'd mastered now felt foreign somehow, and the princess couldn't put her finger on it. Barely two seconds in, her arms were flailing outward and she struggled to keep herself upright. She was losing her balance! "Whoa--! Oof!" The force of the ( ... )
