He trod further on--the description was near enough, and honestly, Albedo would be disappointed if this turned out to be an utter charade. He was completely bored, and Nigredo was off somewhere, discussing riddles with an overgrown house-cat. As if it had anything useful to say. Giving a sigh, he propped the shotgun on a shoulder, half glancing backwards. "Your name, by any rate, if we're to be bosom friends?"
A few he could come up with, but none that would probably be answered to. Tempting either way. The teen's hair was nearly white, with an off tint to it that made it something else altogether. And where Albedo's hung near to messy, it was nothing as long as this one's. He mentally shrugged. There existed far stranger things--why his mind focused on colors would be something he would never understand.

As unsettling as it was to think about anyone who might have been going toward the medical wing tonight, though, Claude knew they couldn't let themselves get distracted. It was possible they were walking into a trap of their own, which meant they needed to remain on guard.
Once they approached the door leading into the Sun Room, Claude slowed his pace and neared the door. He knew this area attracted a lot of fights -- he'd been caught in his fair share of them here, after all. Yet it seemed unusually peaceful, and one look inside didn't show anything amiss.
"Hey, we might actually be in luck this time," he whispered to his friends. "I'm not seeing anything dangerous. If we make it quick, we might get through." Still, they needed to stay serious about this. Appearances could be deceiving.
"But we still need to keep a tight formation," Claude added as he turned to look at his friends. "The last thing we want to do is get separated during an ambush or something."

Anise was a little surprised that Claude didn't see or hear anything in the Sun Room, but she knew she couldn't take that to mean it was totally safe. "Of course!" she replied to both her friends' warnings. Maybe they were just early, and whatever was in there hadn't been stirred up yet. They definitely couldn't let their guards down so easily.
In any case, they couldn't waste time. The sooner they got to their destination, the more time they'd have to see what they could find.

"Man, we've had some bad luck lately," Guy said with a sigh once he was sure that his two companions had escaped that strange man safely. First last night when that swordsman had attacked them so fiercely, and now some weird setup where they were expected to dance? What was this all about?
It seemed like they were pulling out all the stops to prevent them from getting to the basement. Maybe Aguilar really didn't want them to see what was hidden there. That only made Guy more eager to make it there, though.
"So, to the courtyard then?" They really couldn't waste any time now that they'd been set back like this. "We might be able to make it faster if we go over the wall in the greenhouse yard." He hadn't used that path very often himself, but it might be worth a shot. The path that wasn't as well known might not be guarded as fiercely.

Fully set on his goal for the night, Sechs regained his forceful stride down the hall, flashlight and machete in hand. The medical wing was just farther down the corridor and Sechs was anxious to get there before the supply of the General's tonics ran out.
With his armored boots heavily thumping down the floor, Sechs did not relent in his tenacious pace. He kept his flashlight aloft and his machete ready to strike within a moment's notice. It was only when he prowled past the entrance to the Sun Room did Sechs shift his focus to the side, making sure there was nothing dangerous to pounce at him from the adjoining area--
Thump!"WAH--?!" Out of the blue, something short and soft bumped into Sechs' midsection, sending the started Replica stumbling to the side and whipping out his machete in a flourish. A monster was attacking him! Sechs' reaction to the danger took about two seconds. In a violent flash, Sechs had his blade striking down at his target, but the next instant forced him to halt his attack when his flashlight ( ... )

Ritsuka turned and caught a flash of metal in the sudden beam of a flashlight. Metal that was headed straight for him. The shock of seeing a blade pointed at him, attacking him, was so great that Ritsuka froze in place, staring as the weapon came down at him. This was it. He was going to be killed on accident by a jumpy patient all because he'd been clumsy enough to go out without his flashlight on in a dark hallway. He should have known better! He should have--
Move!Turning his head away, Ritsuka raised his arms to guard his face and waited for the blow to come. But it didn't. Instead, Ritsuka picked up the sounds of someone stepping away and snarling out an admonishment ( ... )

Damnit! He had almost killed another fellow prisoner, and a young kid as well! That, and the stranger was giving him a lot of heck, which was understandable, but did he have to demand an apology too?! Sechs already said the "S" word that morning, and it was like pulling teeth for him! His frown twisted with chagrin at the thought of saying sorry a second time in a single day, even if it was the right thing to do ( ... )

Aigis continued down the hall, stumbling a bit, but keeping up a good pace. The Evoker was still in her hand, clutched to her chest. She tried not to think about the weight, continuing down, down, down the hallway.

By the time Facilier neared the center of the Main Hallway, he noticed a slight tremble in his hands and knees. "Blast it, Facilier! You've been through worse before!" the witch doctor mentally berated himself. He preferred that his body's reaction was simply the excitement of finding the supplies he needed for his spells.
Meanwhile, Facilier noticed the steady stream of prisoners traveling towards the medical wing. The man let out a soft snort. "The fools..." he thought to himself, "All rushing in to take the military's poisons without question... They would have made fine customers for me back in New Orleans..."Bringing his attention back to his own goals, Facilier shifted his walk into a cautious embrace against the wall, edging carefully towards the door leading to the Sun Room. He risked letting his Shadow move above his shoulder to take a peek past the door. When the Shadow gave its master the go-ahead with a nod of its stretched head, Facilier relaxed slightly before allowing the rest of his body to slither off ( ... )
