The conversation with Phoenix had been enough to help Zack's mood and had also been a good distraction while he'd eaten his entire bowl of gruel. The stuff might not be all that tasty, but it was certainly a good source of nutrition, and right now that was all that mattered

"Thanks," Phoenix said, before he nodded slightly in response to Zack's words, resting his hand upon the crowbar and lifting it up slightly. The item was pretty heavy in comparison to the bat he'd gotten from the Recreational Field, but it also felt as if it would be more durable - so he decided he would opt for this weapon instead, at least for the night.
