Gardening Time... Again?
Well, we're off again. This time I'm going to cage the tomato plants and hope we get more of the tomatoes than the squirrels do. We've aquired a pretty plum tree with four types of plums on it. Since it's blooming, I'm hoping we might get fruit.

Gardening and birdwatching, obsessive behavior or hobbies?
Last year we set up a few plants along the little wire fence where we were growing the honeysuckle. Later we picked up a couple of roses, just to see if we could grow them. We have a couple of the lavender roses-Sterling Silver and Stainless Steel, in the front-the patio, if you can call a 4x6 chunk of sidewalk a patio.

The US Election...
OK, by now, everybody in this country (and most of the world) knows this is a presidential election year. I work the Accessible Voting Unit for my Precinct. That means I'm at the precinct from 6 AM until the polls close and we pack everything up and deliver the ballots to King County Elections Office ( Read more... ) -

Long Pauses...
I know there are long pauses, but sometimes I really can't think of anything to say in public. I mutter about the wierd weather we've had-hail, snow... It really is almost May, isn't it??? But the everyday growth of the garden and the antics of the cats don't really seem like something anyone but me will be interested in reading about.

OK, I realize that this is something most people have done far more frequently than I. I've driven everything from a Renault to a Lincoln , but most of them were like the Dart, one step, and a short one at that, from the junkyard.
