Cookies.

There were cookies on a table.

Ella looked around curiously. Why were there cookies there? Were they meant for someone in particular, or were they free for the taking? And if the latter, why were they just sitting there? It was more than a little suspicious.

And yet... they were cookies. Surely just one of them couldn't hurt, right? She picked one up, looked at it from all angles, and hesitantly took a bite.

Instantly, she regretted it.

For the past few days, Vincent's free time had gone towards researching and analyzing the note uncovered from their little subway adventure. In need of a break for awhile, the Ex-Turk had found himself wandering into the Bryant Park Hotel in hopes of visiting a few friends. Maybe Sora was home.

Deciding to wait around the lobby a bit, Vincent unconsciously took a cookie off the plate and ate it without thinking.

...

...did the room suddenly grow?

His hair felt shorter, too...

Ella stood nearby, clutching her dress to her to keep it from falling off, as it was now several sizes too large. She'd looked away for just a moment -- just enough time to keep her from warning the man who'd taken a cookie.

"...oops," she said.

Vincent felt... unusual all of a sudden, as he began to head for the door. Running a hand through his hair, it indeed felt much shorter than before, and a little more... spikier than usual. It seemed familiar, though the bagginess of his clothes and the too-high collar of his cloak weren't. Huh.

Hearing a little girl's voice call out suddenly, he blinked. Was she... there before? Who was she?

"...you lost, kid?" He asked, surprised at the... lighter tone of voice he'd taken on.

"No, I live here," she replied, frowning at being called "kid". Not that she could blame him, really; she was only eight now. "I should have warned you sooner, I'm sorry. There's something wrong with those cookies."

Perhaps Yachiru had become lost yet again, and just happened to wander into the lobby by chance. Perhaps she had detected the cookies by some special super sense for treats. In truth, with Yachiru there were any number of possibilities, each stranger than the last ( ... )

Thanks to Harry's gift of earth boots, Toph was making sure to get out of the Library Hotel as often as possible. She knew a few people who lived at the Bryant Park hotel and she hadn't seen some of them in quite some time. That and a sense of boredom had led her to the conclusion that she should go there ( ... )

So Black★Star had come to ask for more of the food supplies and carry home, he had a shopping cart he used and it was good exorcise. Now on his way home he watched some activity at the hotel by the park.

He wandered in and watched as various people changed age from eating cookies. Which he would totally try in a moment.

But there were two girls there, ONE TOPLESS, both very hot with curves in all the right places and he had only one thought in his mind as he stared between the two beautiful ladies before him, one topless.

'There is a God!'

Yachiru was understandable distracted by her new body, and so missed Toph's transformation, though the motion of the other girl sitting drew the Shinigami's attention. Now, Yachiru wasn't the most observant person in the world, but she was pretty sure the other girl hadn't looked like that when she came in.

Looking between Toph and her own teenage body, Yachiru had to admit this was one of the weirder situations she'd ever been in. Still, nothing fazed her for long, and so a second later she plopped down on the cold floor next to Toph and asked, "Um, do you know why we're suddenly bigger?"

Before Yachiru could ask anything else, however, a boy's shout echoed through the lobby, reaffirming the existence of the almighty. Yachiru could only blink in more confusion, her young mind unable to process why he would react that way to her naked form. After all, every time she asked Ken-chan why she had to wear clothes he got real grumpy and changed the subject.

Fran was not happy she had visited this particular hotel. Nor that she had allowed the pale-haired young hume talk her into trying one of the cookies, nor that the girl hadn't warned her of the effect of consuming it.

It had been many, many decades since she had felt this small, this young and this vulnerable. Being nearly-naked did not help matters at all. Fran was more than accustomed to the kind of attention that her choice in clothing attracted, but that was different--it was viera dress, it made her a novelty and few humes troubled her regardless. But her garments were hardly suitable for a viera youth and while she had changed, they had not.

Fortune was surely having a fine jest at her expense. Fran crouched behind one of the lobby's couches out of view, legs drawn up to her chest, calculating when this effect might possibly wear off and what cost of retribution might be incurred.

Balthier, on the other hand, had refused the cookies, which seemed to be the right choice. However, it also seemed his partner had gone missing while he wasn't looking.

Balthier walked around, examining the aged and de-aged people with a raised brow before he finally found her--behind a couch of all things. The sky pirate sighed and handed over the coat he had brought with him. "I have a feeling you'll be needing this more than I do."

Fran took the coat he gave her and draped it around herself, for once having no rejoinder to offer. How she wished she had followed Balthier's example and refused to partake. The coat, at least, vastly improved matters.

She got to her feet, off-balance in shoes that were now too big for her, a hand on the back of the couch to keep from teetering over. Strange to be looking up at Balthier instead of down. "Fortune jests with me tonight," she said ruefully, her voice the high, clear tone it had been in her youth.

Balthier was unable to hide his amusement at his partner's situation. "Well, you can always take comfort in the fact that you aren't the only one." He motioned toward the others in the room, though he had a feeling she'd seen them already. "The gods never have been a kind bunch."

After allowing himself a minute more to consider the situation, Balthier finally offered her his hand. "Shall we take our leave for now, or would you rather have a few words with our trickster first?"

Marluxia was hungry, there were cookies, and he honestly didn't think beyond that. He'd come to Bryant Park Hotel to see if he could find Axel there; he might as well grab a snack before Sora chased him out.

...It took him a few seconds to notice that he had lost a few inches, but the loss of almost forty pounds he noticed immediately.

"...Ugh." He could barely bring himself to say anything more, taking in how ridiculous his clothes looked now. "I feel like Zexion."

Of course, Sora could not resist free cookies just laying out in the hotel lobby. And being trusting enough of free food, he had no qualms about taking just one...he failed to notice that there was something different about the people hanging out in the lobby until he'd already grabbed one and taken a few bites.

However, he did notice someone in particular: the one Nobody that didn't have the good sense to leave him and his friends alone! He scowled, and marched over to Marluxia with every intent of chasing him out, and maybe leaving him a few bruises for his trouble.

"HEY! Just what're you..."

...And then stopped once he was a few steps away. Woah. He didn't remember Marluxia being shorter than him. In fact, he remembered the Nobody being significantly taller than him, and...older, most importantly. Why did he look like he was Riku's age now ( ... )

Marluxia turned around when he heard the voice--and did a doubletake.

"Sora?" He asked, incredulous...then his expression went sour when he realized what has happened to him. "This is most unfair.

Yeah there was definitely something wrong here. Glancing down, he fast realized that his normal teenage body had been replaced with an older one, almost 24. And Marluxia...Marluxia was almost Riku's age.

Next time he'd have to think twice about picking up free cookies. But for now...

He crossed his arms over his chest, glaring down at the pink-haired (now teenaged) Nobody. There was something a little nice about being the taller one in a confrontation. "Maybe you shouldn't have done the stupid thing and come around here at all!"
