Summary: The Founding Families have turned against the original family once again, Klaus enlists Stefan’s help to find Caroline. AU concept taken from a tumblr blog.
Pacing up and down the living room in the Mikaelson Mansion was the most Klaus could do to keep from ripping someone’s head off, the clock ticked off the seconds which each passing click waiting for word on Caroline. His fingers glided along the mantelpiece, tapped impatiently against the wood. The door was not going to be opened was it with word tonight, he almost gave up in despair.
As he continued his pacing, finally the door opened to reveal Stefan-looking forlorn and disheveled-Klaus frowned at the arrival of his former companion and brother in arms. He looked him over carefully before he spoke, “Do you have word of her?”
Stefan’s head bowed, and Klaus knew the look of guilt and pain when he saw it. He gripped a glass against his palm and threw it against the wall, shattering the small object into even smaller pieces. He took Stefan by the shoulders and shook him remorselessly, screamed at him, “Where have they taken her?”
When Stefan found the nerve to speak, he answered, “They have her locked in an old prison shaft long forgotten off of the Lockwood property.” Bowing his head again, he whispered, “It would be suicide to go there because they have 3 trained founding family guards on the hideout.”
Again, this is not the information Klaus wanted to hear right now. He let out another blood curdling scream, tearing items from the table off of it one by one. Stefan watched as the temperamental hybrid tore a page from an old book. At last, Klaus came over to where Stefan still stood and glared into his eyes, growled, “If they do anything to her, I’ll rip out your heart,” he gripped the back of Stefan’s neck, forcing him to maintain eye contact, “you got me.”
Like before, Stefan nodded his agreement, and Klaus let go of him. He smiled knowingly.
Confused by Klaus’ mood, Stefan asked politely, “So, what’s the plan?”
A finger to his lips, Klaus told him, "All would be revealed in good time."
