Summary: John is involved in a ritual trust ceremony
John shivered when the natives tied the blindfold around his eyes. It was a pilot’s worst nightmare to be blind for it will bar the ability to fly. He knows it’s only temporary. But still the fact he was flying blind for a ritual ceremony, terrified him.
His fear doesn’t last. Moments after he was engulfed in darkness he felt two familiar hands grip his. He knew them well. Those were the hands that caressed him and held him fiercely….Rodney’s. He felt a sense of calm wash over him.
“Trust me,” Rodney said quietly, “I’ll be your eyes.”
John kept himself focused on Rodney’s presence as he guided him through the woods. He pictured Rodney in front of him clear as day, protecting him and making sure he didn’t stumble or fall.
And being John’s eyes, he thought, was his way of repaying him for always being his protector.
