unexpected compliments

at work, i am one of the system managers for a patient/reporting system. even though i express frustration at times to others here about how the program managers on the product's end handle my issues, or system limitations, i try to be nice/understanding with our service manager, because i would hate his job: dealing with multiple clients' issues ( Read more... )

You should gather your courage and go for it. Last year I saw him outside a venue and a woman who was standing near me in the street as I was staring open mouthed just went up to him and shook his hand so I followed her and ended up getting his autograph. He was very gracious. So when I saw Robyn Hitchcock this year, I saw Peter at the bar buying wine and I went and talked to him. I was blushing firiously and my stomach was churning, but we had a lovely chat (if embarassing as I asked a personal question and got an unexpected answer) and he sighed my REM bookmark. He is very very approachable. What a nice guy! So next time-just go for it.

hello - looks like i have a new friend since the last time i checked!

thanks for sharing your experience. i know that for the most part, artists are people and would enjoy hearing a simple compliment from a fan, but i'm determined i should just act normal and give them their space. i'll try to break the mindset next time!
