there's a video on YouTube of the Asylum Street Spankers doing one of their songs.

the spankers are great with showmanship and wit (and darn good players, too). they played this when we saw them somewhat erecntly in the city, but seeing them in costumes takes it to a whole new level.

the asylum street spankers are one of those bands i always heard were great but i took for granted that i would get around to seeing them, as they placed regularly when i lived in austin. of course, i only saw them for the first time at the kerville folk festival, a month or so before i moved abroad, and then i kicked myself for not going to see them when i lived in austin. i think they tour a lot now, so i'm not sure how much they play in town, but i recommend checking them out - they really put on a great show.
