I was in DC yesterday.
How much media coverage did we get?  'Cause I don't think it was a lot. 

I have stopped fantasizing about staying here for the summer and am beginning to actually consider the possibility.  Hthinks she might be able to get me a job at the vet clinic that randomly made her a tech, and my mental health may indeed be worth $333--$400 a month ( Read more... )

The library has secret passageways, 4000-year-old cuneiform tablets, "Indian" treaties that are broken only figuratively, and Charles Dickens' pet raven.  It will also pay for grad school. 

Wow what a lazy weekend
I will be getting up tomorrow at the time I was going to sleep last night.

Deep-fried danishes are alright, but not that great.  Same thing with bulghur/cashew burgers, but at least those are kind of healthy.

It's snowing, which it is not supposed to do. 

It's almost to the point where packing does not make me sad.  Seriously. 

Norberto Valdez had some pretty cool stuff to say at the MLK "March" (aka event inside and out of the cold that was going to be a march) today.

He talked about the dangers of turning people like MLK into icons.  This really just lets other people control our heros.  Instead of knowing all about MLK, like how his focus broadened to include things ( Read more... )

I think I may be fermenting or something.  What else does reading bad books until 4 in the morning indicate? 

The fact that I tend to lose rather important things as soon as I get home to this enormous house is taking on some symbolic meaning. Especially since the lost item, at the moment, happens to be my (legal documentation of) identity.
