Eating Out Sixteen - Running Up to Thanksgiving
This covers everywhere I ate from early October until the travel I did over Thanksgiving.
257. Saturday, October 10 - Graffiti - M and I got dinner before we went to see Garth Brooks.
258. Saturday, October 10 - Deagan's - After Garth Brooks, M and I had drinks and dessert at our favorite hangout, Deagan's.
259. Sunday, October 18 -Mahall's / Saucisson - My friend Shari runs the Cleveland Print Room. I went to their fundraising brunch at Mahall's. Featured was Saucisson, a local purveyor of sausage. The curried sausage is fantastic, and I recommend it.
260. Thursday, October 22 - Richland Tavern - After placing our order at Chow Chow (next entry), theferrett and I went a few doors down to the Richland Tavern to have a beer while we waited.
261. Thursday, October 22 - Chow Chow - At the time that theferrett and I went had just opened. It was then the only soul food place in Lakewood. We got takeout and brought it back to my house, but neither of us was particularly impressed with the food. I won't be back.
262. Thursday, October 22 - 16-bit Barcade - After takeout, we played video games and drank beer.
263. Saturday, October 24 - Jack's Deli - When I take my cousin out for lunch, we often hit up Jack's, which is a decent Jewish deli on the east side.
264. Sunday, October 25 - Peppermint Thai - Family weekend continued the next day when I met my other cousins at Peppermint Thai, which is a competent but not particularly great Thai place on the east side.
265. Thursday, October 29 - Ice Cream Joy - gieves came over for dinner (as I recall) and afterwards we went to Ice Cream Joy. I believe this was my first visit there. It's very tasty, and I've been back many times since.
266. Friday, October 30 - Ninja City - EJ and I went to the amazing Garden exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art, and then checked out Ninja City for dinner. While it's not the best food of its type in Cleveland, it is well done. I would have killed to have a place like this on campus when I was a student.
267. Saturday, October 31 - Guy's Pizza - I went to katspaw156's house for Trick or Drink, wherein the kids get candy and the adults get spiked cider. We had pizza from Guy's.
268. Friday, November 6 - Chipotle Lakewood - I do not recall why I went to Chipotle.
269. Saturday, November 7 - Tommy's Pastries - I'd lived in Lakewood for 8 years at this point, and I hadn't been to the Hungarian pastry shop near my house. I bought a bag to take to my friend Ryan's hiking birthday party.
270. Saturday, November 7 - Craft Beer Bar - After a long satisfying hike, Ryan and I and the other attendees at his party got sandwiches and beer at this place in Cuyahoga Falls.
271. Saturday, November 7 - Porco - gieves and I and some others met at Porco's for tiki drinks. I think she's been with me every time I was at Porco's bar one.
272. Saturday, November 7 - Prosperity - After Porco, we moved on to Prosperity for some food.
273. Sunday, November 8 - Beachland - I caught Nikki Lane at the Beachland Tavern and had a few beers.
274. Tuesday, November 10 - Mahall's - I saw Rah Rah at Mahall's and had some beer.
275. Friday, November 13 - The Q - A bunch of us went to the Q to watch the Lake Erie Monsters. I got nachos.
276. Friday, November 13 - Deagan's - After the hockey game we got dinner at Deagan's.
277. Saturday, November 14 - Beachland - When Elvis Hitler hits the Beachland Tavern, you go. And you have beer.
278. Sunday, November 15 - Roxu Fusion - My friend Emily and I tried Roxu out before a concert. The steamed buns were solid, the ramen not so much.
279. Sunday, November 15 - Ice Cream Joy - Then I took Emily to Ice Cream Joy for dessert.
280. Sunday, November 15 - The Foundry - The concert in question was 3rd wave ska stalwarts Mephiskapheles. Emily and I enjoyed some whisky before skanking. And during skanking. And possibly after skanking, I can't be sure.
281. Thursday, November 19 - Beachland - King Khan and the BBQ Show was my 2015 show of the year. I enjoyed a few beers when I saw him at the Beachland Ballroom.
