You could leave out a soft light layer or two, or play with opacities. Or if you like it the way it is, forget about it.

i think i added some other layers in there that weren't in your tut, like a hue/saturation layer and probably color balance and whatnot.

i'll probably re-do it later, since i always use the same base for about 4 - 6 different icons. haha.

i really want to try a selective coloring with this icon, but i suck horribly at it. haha.

I don't have color balance, but I have selective color, so I may try that out.

I like the crispness of it. I never play with Luminosity enough. I should try it.

I use PSP9 but i don't find auto contrast :(
