I swear guys, I need a facebook fast. It's always making me crazy. Recently, this post has been making the rounds and driving me insane

I feel the same way. We got married first and then joined the military second as a way to provide for our family. I don't look at what I sacrifice so He can be in the Air Force. I look at what He sacrifices to provide us with a house, clothes, food, health care, plus all the extras beyond basic necessities. And you know I don't think I could put up with all the crap that my husband does. Because of his military service I have stronger feelings of patriotism than I ever would have. And I hate when non-military people say "I don't know how you do it". You just do. It's life as we know it.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. The other thing that irritates me is that I know I'll see it reposted by some of these women that hate the military and are counting the days until they get out.
Ugh--those "viral" status things on FB are annoying as hell.
And that one in particular is kinda sexist, no? It seems very "stand by your man, exist only as an extension of your husband, have no dreams or desires of your own" sound to it that rubs me the wrong way. (Never mind that a lot of military folks aren't *men* at all...)
Well Said! (But you're still awesome.)

Why do you think the military offers such great benefits as incentives to join? Because it's tough making that decision to join. Even though the ads make you think it's cool to serve your country (and it is), I'd wager most people join for similar reasons as you (-to provide for their families, to get schooling, to get career training, to build a resume, to get a reliable paycheck, to have an adventure, etc)...and all these reason probably rate higher on the "why I joined" list.
Well said! We (as in my husband) almost joined back in college too! It's a great option and whether or not your husband's priority is to serve me or not, I'm still proud and thankful he does! And your sacrifice is equally appreciated! :) We all benefit even though his duty is really to YOU and not the country at large. And that is most honorable. Cheers!
