Well, I survived the night, which is always a good thing. The waters started to recede late last night / early this morning. Most main roads have re-opened at the moment. There is still a lot of damage about the place, and still a more than 1000 stranded, but thus far there have been no deaths or serious injuries.

As if it wasn't bad enough to catch a cold when i had three assignments due, but then it started to rain.
I got home less then an hour before the road in flooded.
We've had 300 mls in the last 24 hours, floods, landslides, the highway cut off, the road i live on has been cut off several times, people are being evacuated down the road and 1000's are ( Read more... )

I woke up this morning and was bombarded by news about Matt Smith, the 26 yr old who will be taking over from David Tennant in the role of The Doctor on my BBC favourite, Doctor Who. Well, it's New Year's Eve once again and (as is typical for Australia) it is an absolute scorcher, complete with sunburn and bushfires. The Twilight movie was released in Australia on Thursday (11/12/08). I went to see it yesterday morning, pulling my lil' sis out of school, my mum who is a huge fan and my brother who was eager to get out of the house, joined us.
