I took Dahlia to the vet this morning for her yearly vet appointment. She did really well there. They weighed her and she weighs 52 lbs according to their scale, so she's still doing well in that regard (she weighed 55.5 lbs the last time we went there!). They drew blood and she didn't yelp. She was hilarious when she came back into the room ( Read more... )

Dahlia weighs 52 pounds? *boggles* That's about the same as Lucy. For some reason I thought Dahlia was so much bigger! Weird!

Yep...she's not a very big dog! I think she just looks bigger because she's mostly HAIR. lol Even the vet upon feeling her mentioned she was a much smaller dog than she looked like and that she was in good shape, even though she looked larger. She's a fluffy dog! lol

Me too. I'm worried. They said she could have gotten infected even last year and that wouldn't surprise me. Her foster mom took her into the woods a lot and so did we. And who knows what happened to her before we got her! I know NOTHING about lyme disease.

The Lyme disease sounds scary. I hope everything is ok there.

Yeah I'm really scared about that. Deer ticks are pretty common here so it's not a huge surprise, but I'm worried about her. Hopefully antibiotics will treat it as they say they will.

What little I do know about Lyme disease, is the dog is on medication for at least a month and re-tested to be sure it has gone negative. Some dogs don't exhibit any symptoms if they show positive. I am sure she'll be right as rain soon. *grin*

I hope so! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Hopefully it'll be an easy thing to treat.
