Lainey looked up at the castle. "Well... I don't think we're in America anymore, Toto...' she muttered. With trepidation, she started toward the castle. 'Whatever this place is, it's fucking creepy...' She felt very unsettled, and continued to glance around warily. 'Can I click my heels three times and go back to Bed-Stuy?' The crime riddled neighborhood somehow felt safer. The inner psychologist in her reminded her that known dangers were preferable to the unknown.
She got to the castle and paused. 'In for a penny in for a pound,' she sighed and entered the enormous structure. She took in her surroundings and turned right, walking slowly. She didn't call out, not wanting to draw attention to herself. Keeping her back half way to the wall, and side stepping a bit, she could keep an eye on her surroundings as she walked. After more than a decade as a police officer, it was instinct. As was keeping her hands free, even though she had no weapon.
'Come out come out, wherever you are,' she murmured softly, more to herself than to anyone else.
