[ even before they step fully into the house, Silver notices blood on the doorframe. Oh, that's classy decor right there. also, there's a distinct blood-smell wafting out from the house, just enough to be noticeable particularly if you're looking for it. It adds to the blood already clinging to them, a sickeningly coppery smell that surrounds them.

He lets himself inside nevertheless, assuming she'll follow, and sets down his stuff - bloodied and dirtied and all - by the front door. He and Ray aren't exactly the cleanest or tidiest of people (too busy drinking, to be honest) but even he won't trek more blood over his house than is necessary. ]

Ray.

[ said to Ray! Who is there! right? ]

[At Silver's comment, Mireille comes to a halt, turning her head to look at him over her shoulder. Her mouth feels dry and sending Ray a smile, she lets go of his hand and walks over to the table to refill her glass.]

Then, surely, you can present me with something better, Silver. Being so harsh a judge.

[She turns towards him casually, with a good-humoured smirk on her lips. The glass, now half-empty, feels light in her hand. Her head feels even lighter by now.]

[ Ray gives Silver a look that would probably be a glare if this whole situation wasn't so amusingly ridiculous. ]

I can do just fine, thank you!

[ But he's quick enough to return to his drink when Mirielle releases his hand. Anyway, this should be amusing. ]

Indeed Silver, show me how it should be done.

[ aw, crap. you guys. Silver gives you both a glare, like so. ]

That's not my kind of activity.

[ oh Silver, what is? don't worry - get him a bit drunker and he'll start stumbling around. ]

[Mireille won't have it. He is the one telling her to always have this to return to. Laughing a bit, she lifts her own glass and presses it to his lips, finger gently pushing at his chin. DOWN IT GOES, SWEETIE.]

Drink.

[It's an order, even if her tone is soft.]

And then dance with me.

[ Have Ray laughing in that slightly too loud way of someone wandering down the road towards drunkenness. ]

Oho, I think she's got you there, Silver

[ Which will probably trouble him a bit, later, but right now he's just going to enjoy. And drink more. ]

[ oh, man. oh man oh man. thank god Silver is tipsy enough for something as ridiculous as this. Whhhhy is he letting Mireille feed him alcohol? Nevertheless, down it goes indeed - he could never resist a good drink - and he gets up, holding his own bottle, swaying just a bit. ]

Well! Let's drink to today!

[ raising the bottle in a mock-toast to Mireille. If she grabs him, he'll dance. ]

[As Silver makes a toast, Mireille puts her glass on the table, taking his free hand and dragging him out into the middle of the room. On cue, the flowers begin singing something that could be a Russian polka, who knows? She puts her other hand on his shoulder, raising her face to laugh at him.]

We must make certain Ray is well entertained.

[ A glass on the table means refilling right? Ray tops off all three glasses and then makes a grand sweeping gesture with the rapidly emptying bottle and leans back in his chair ]

Yes, entertain me, my friends. Show me how a dance is done!

[ allowing her to rest her hand on his shoulder, he loosely grips her other hand, still holding the bottle in his own right hand, taking a swig now and then.

He's swaying. Something between a drunken stumble and a waltz, but closer to a drunken stumble. ]

Ray is always well entertained.

[ ... no, it's okay, it's not a joke, don't panic. As usual it's just one of his blunt statements of fact. However, he almost looks happy! if one were to take it as a joke he might even roll with it. ]

[She lets herself be led around in... well, a drunken stumble. Which suits her fine, because her vision is beginning to blur just a little. Turning her head, she smiles at Ray.]

A preferable way of approaching life.

[Perhaps Mireille should have paid attention to her feet, because Silver isn't, and when she finds herself close to stepping on his toes, her own surprised stagger causes her to lose her balance and tumble backwards.]

That's not dancing!

[ He drinks again, and is just setting his drink down as Mireille starts to stumble. Normally he's got great reflexes. Drunk? Not so much. He reacts quickly, but his attempts to get up and steady her only result in the chair sliding backwards and him stumbling forwards onto the floor. Which is, at this point, hilarious to him. Have excessive laughter.

[ people! Silver obviously feels that he is a lot more sober than the rest of you, so he... uh, might have just tried to help Mireille and Ray up, both at the same time.

Unsurprisingly, this does not end well. Ray gets to fall flat on his face, but Silver at least cushion's Mireille's fall a bit, before allowing her to tumble back anyway, and stumbling to his knees himself.

Let it be noted, though: this does not deter him. ]

It's too early to be falling over yet!

[At Silver's mention of the time, Mireille sits up straighter on the floor, her hair having long ago tumbled out of its bun, her dress probably showing more leg than what is proper, but she doesn't notice. Looking at the nearest clock, she realises that it is actually quite late.]

I should get home, or Jean Louis will be...

[Irritated? Angry? Ready to shoot her dead? She settles with something a little more domestic.]

... worried.

*snicker* I read 'something a little more domestic" as "something less domestic". Which also fits. walkingtheweb May 10 2010, 12:46:34 UTC
[ Ray gives an expressive snort as he picks himself off the floor. ]

Let the man worry a bit

[ He sits back down in his chair, a bit heavier than he'd intended, and takes another drink. ]

Where was he when your garden was attacked? Or today? Let the man worry. Have fun with us!

[ unlike Ray, Silver believes it's neither his particular prerogative nor frankly within his interests to comment on how good a husband, or not, Jean Louis might be. That's just because he hasn't discovered his raging crush on Mireille yet. Instead, as usual, he takes the flatter, more factual approach - though this factuality is blurred a bit by his slurring speech. ]

Let him know on the looking glass, then. You're in no state to go back yet.

[ because you're really one to talk, Silver! ]
