I had a much longer entry planned and about 3/4s written out, but then I wrote an intro apologizing for the content, which really didn't need apologizing for anyway because there wasn't anything wrong with it, but you (at least a couple of you) know what I'm like, so... The recital went rather well. I actually plan on making an entry about it; that means it'll be positive, not about how much I hated myself afterward.
I'll post the lyrics to "Still Hurting". First some background on the musical it's from, The Last Five Years: (Wikipedia's intro to the article about the show, because it's a better description than what I can come with) "The story explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. The show uses a novel form of storytelling in which Cathy travels backwards in time (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and Jamie travels forwards (starting with the couple's first date). The songs are presented as soliloquies, except for a wedding song in the middle, where the two characters share a duet. Sometimes the show is performed in such a way ( ... )
