I have to admit that I was not planning on riding to Portland in the RAIN. Well. Being over 40% of the way to my goal (some pledges are not yet tallied online) is a pretty rad birthday present. It is really astounding and wonderful to know my friends and family* are so generous and loving [hey, I don't think it's an overstatement]. My tactics for ( Read more... )

I was just about to make a post about how thrilled I was to have another rainy day, but, uh ... Perhaps I'll save that post for another rainy day.

Okay!

Let's be thrilled about today and have unrainy days tomorrow and Sunday (I will be thrilled, you can just think "at least Daphne and Seth aren't getting soaked"). I can be thrilled today; I seriously wouldn't mind if not for the biking.

I just donated! Yay! So happy birthday to you!

How long are you going to be in PDX for before you leave for SF? Any chance for a meeting? You might be too exhausted, so that's ok. Did you say you were taking the train? Tell me how that is for that long of a train ride. Anyway.

Thank you! You know, I was thinking we might be able to meet up on Monday; my sister most likely will be working anyway. What's your Monday like? We catch the train in the afternoon, and it takes all night (literally) to get to SF. I need to do my itinerary... Anyway, I can call you when we're there, too.

Oh, no, my Monday is totally booked up with all my usual activities, there is absolutely no way I could ever get away!

Ha ha, only kidding. I'm sure you couldn't have guessed.

Yes, I'm sure I could get away on Monday. Let me know. Where are you staying, your sister's? I can't remember where that is. I'm sure we could meet up somewhere, like downtown or something and have brunch or lunch or whatever.

good. we have to be at the train station at 1, so i think brunch or lunch downtown would be best. she's up on 66th or 60th not too far out of downtown; it will be easy for us to ride down there! i will call you on sunday.

Yeah, Sami, his sister and her wife, Angela's (do you know her? Lalamaus on lj?) roommate Evan I believe. Also many people from my office...

I do know Angela but not her roommate. But it's crazy: 8,000 people are riding it and Seattle's not *that* big. I hope I will come home with some new friends.

hey you. thanks for the donation!

at least her roommate will be home at the end of it, though. well, we're staying with my sister sunday night so it'll be cozy and warm (unless her dumb dog pees on us; willie doesn't like seth, or any other males on his territory).

we won't be in pdx very long but i'm thinking brunch on monday, maybe with leah (wikkywikky) and maybe my sister if she's not working... you interested in joining us? or we could have coffee/lunch/something (are you working or bar studying only?). we have to be at the train station at about 1 pm.

Yeah! D and I would love to have coffee/something down there. I'm thinking you'll have lots of gear on hand, so won't be too mobile. Give us a call when you give you get into town - maybe Sunday night - with where you'll be in town, what time, etc. Here's the number: (734) 546-2870 (my cel phone, still with MI number).

Have fun on the ride!! Bring yer safety smartz.
