Rb and I just bought our plane tickets to NYC for the end of this month. We're flying into NYC early Friday May 27, hanging out there for the day and then taking the train in the evening to RI (for a Brown reunion). This is unbelievable. Salon is reporting that there was a bulge on President Bush's back during the first debate. There is speculation that he may have been wired during the debate. He did seem a little odd during some of the question... especially that 'let me finish' comment. I remember us all mentioning during the debate how out of place it ( Read more... )

A couple of Swarthmore students won their copyright lawsuit last week against Diebold (the electronic voting machine company). The court basically said that you can't use the Digital Millennium Act to suppress embarrassing content and that copyright law is designed to protect and promote creativity (not protect a company's profits for profits' ( Read more... )

I ran 12 miles yesterday. I'm feeling pretty good about doing the 1/2 marathon now. It's in 3 weeks.

It is so depressing. This is absolutely ridiculous. The Ohio Secretary of State is denying vote registration applications if the registration card is not printed on 80lb card stock. The reason given is that the applications might have problems getting through the USPS mail readers on lighter weight paper. It makes absolutely no sense however ( Read more... )
