Driving along in the car with Shrek yesterday, dropping Bookworm and her pal at dance and making our way home. The drive parallels the railroad tracks of the North Jersey Coast Line, passing several stations. A few months ago, G-man and I were heading to the store to buy a present for his classmate's birthday party. I suggested to him that we get a little LEGO Mars Mission set. He said that he didn't want to buy that for Zachary, as he wanted it for himself. In my best logical, reasonable Mom-voice I said, "Well, we can't buy it for you, as it's not your birthday." He did his best "I'm surrounded by idiots" eyeroll and groan and said, "We're not buying it for my birthday, we're buying it so I CAN HAVE MORE TOYS!".

Like, duh, Mom. :P
