Piper really loved Thanksgiving. It gave her an excuse to help Grams in the kitchen. It also gave her another reason to bake. Of course, there would be brownies. And various pies.

Lindsey had seen some scary things during his time at Fandom High and after. Nothing had filled him with quite so much dread as meeting Piper's grandmother. Especially on a holiday. But here he was, on the doorstep, and it was too late to go back now. Might as well ring the doorbell, instead of standing out here all day, so that's what he did.

"I can imagine," Grams said. She glanced sideways at Piper and said, "So, how much do you know about how...special...my granddaughters are?"

Lindsey, hoping he wouldn't get into trouble for this, grinned.

"Well, I met Piper after she baked me brownies. To apologize for blowing up my fridge. So that was kind of a clue."

Grams looked at Piper and arched an eyebrow. "You blew up his fridge?"

"It was an accident!" Piper insisted. "I didn't even know I had this power until it happened."

She might have glared at Lindsey a little.

"Why on earth did you blow up his fridge?" Grams persisted.

Piper tried very hard not to flail. "Uh...I was having an argument with his roommate at the time...over an assignment. And the fridge kind of got in the way."

She really didn't want to get into the real reason, especially with Phoebe sitting nearby.

"It's a good thing it happened at Fandom instead of at a normal school," Grams said. "You'll have to work on that temper."

"Yeah, definitely working on that," Piper said, nodding.

Grams turned back to Lindsey. "I trust you are...discrete about my girls' abilities," she said, her tone making it clear if he wasn't, there would be hell to pay. "So what did you think when you first realized she was a witch?"

"Always!" Lindsey said quickly. "And mostly I thought I'd better keep myself in line. I saw what she did to the poor fridge, I don't wanna be on the receiving end of that!"

Grams couldn't help but smile. "Good answer," she said. "You never want to be on the receiving end of a Halliwell woman's wrath."

Lindsey decided it would be best not to mention the time Piper tried to break his arm in half. "Yeah, I've noticed that. So I try to keep in line. Doing all right so far."

"Good," Grams said. "You know your place. I like that in a man."

Unsure how to answer that particular remark, Lindsey just nodded and then shot Piper a very amused glance. It seemed like a safe enough response.

Piper shook her head and snickered before grinning at Lindsey. Mostly, she was relieved that he seemed to have survived meeting Grams.
