This word sounds very funny, шt comes from the Carpathian word Ukraine) " popryga " , which means "pepper" ( paprika ) . This is a purely Hungarian snack , we often eat it with vodka . We - transcarpathian people, adopted this recipe and use it for a long time . It is very easy to cook , and the result is delicious!

EDITED TO ADD: Sorry, this was supposed to be in response to the "what cut of meat is this exactly?" question. While I don't know what the OP used..I know my spouses family uses Pork Belly or really faty Pork Loin..and I've even had it made with chicken. It really was just whatever his grandmother or mother or aunts had on hand.
