A little ricotta cheese, maybe? It'll become a bit creamy as a result, which I'm not sure if the other party will like or not... but it's a thought. :P

I was thinking mixed into the sauce itself. :P But maybe a bit of parmesan or grated mozzarella on top?

Haha! I may get away with peas. Do peas and spaghetti work?
(I would love to put in spinach) :)

I know pasta carbonara typically has peas...

i hate to be a purist, but pasta carbonara traditionally does not have peas...that's a variation on the classic.

Experiment with herbs and/or spices on both the prawns and the pasta. A simple favorite of mine is adding some rosemary, garlic, and oregano to the prawns while frying and then slathering the spaghetti with basil pesto.

Sauces are also good to play with. Peanut sauce, cream based sauces, and seafood stock based sauces can all avoid vegetables (I'm sure there are lots more..) while adding flavor.

That's great advice, thank you :D I'm drawn to the peanut sauce idea...
