I love intervention, it is a wake up call for me, it is not omthing that I can watch alone as it usually brings up stong emotions. I tried to watch dying to be thin one night by my self and ended up callin my sponsor at like 3 am b/c I "need" to go for a late night run....insanity. I did go into treatment, and have been out a year, but I stuggle still with eating, and living alone it is harder, when I am staying with some one tha has food issues too and also recovering, it is easier b/c we are their for each other...I have been to OA some, but I have found EDA really helpful and the online forum is great! teir is a whole discussion board on the site with all differnt topics, I have found this helps and their tends to be more anorexics/bulimics in EDA vs. OA..thanks for the sare and the best of wishes to you on this journey... YOU ARE NOT ALONE :)

This show also helps me to see that there there different kinds of struggles. As someone who has never even smoked a cigarette, it is difficult for me to understand drug addictions. Likewise, it is virtually impossible for others to understand eating disorders or self-injury. In the end, shows like Intervention bring to light behaviors that are usually in the dark. I feel more aware after I watch that program and more sympathetic to others' struggles. I'm learning that we all have challenges...some more "accepted" than others, but in the end, we all want to love ourselves as we are and have the world do the same. It's always so shocking to me how much sadness there is in the world.
