"The cost of this item just went up $0.25, do you still want to buy it?"
Am I alone in thinking this oft suggested "tax" on "sugar-sweetened beverages" as a deterrent is kinda silly? Has any study or statistic proven that additional taxes on alcohol or tobacco has had any significant impact on stopping either behavior? Spent a very lovely day with a very dear friend. =) Lots of talking of writing and our lives, and even a bit on fandom, ensued. Delicious food was consumed. Though, as I sit here with my bottle of Maalox, I am reminded why I said to the aforementioned dear friend, beccaabbott, "I haven't had lasagna in a long time." It is true. Just got home from a extremely sucky shift where I got absolutely hammered, backwards, frontwards and to the side. I had my own, personal ICU unit in the ED. So I made myself a gin & tonic. Is that on my diet? No. Do I care? Hell no.

A New Year
As many people do, I have lots of goals for the new year. I'm already tackling one major goal and started that in December. Thanks to sithdragn, I've hooked up with her personal trainer and have been working out 2-3 days a week doing crazy things like medicine ball slams, reverse lunges and lifting kettle bells.
