And Metro Man’s heart breaks for him, because no, this is nothing what being a superhero feels like. Megamind, like everyone, assumes that it must feel incredible. He doesn’t even think for an instant how empty it must be, to be surrounded by people and still feel totally alone because they all want you without ever really wanting to know you.

Ohhhh my gosh there were so many moments in this where I actually burst out giggling to the room--Megamind's adorably palpable excitement, their goofy "persona" banter, all those sweet humorous touches to your MM writing voice that work so well it still catches me off guard in the best ways!

They're both so much more complex than their public lives make them out to be, and yet still such children in other ways ^_^;;

ALSO also I wanted to note how much I love that you keep giving nods to Megamind's prison upbringing, and how that still manifests in little ways (the occasionally unchecked potty mouth, the prison "rules", the mention of his surrogates in a previous fic).

MMMM mm mmmm your fic is always so worth waiting for ^_^ Incidentally, I hope your own writing project is going well!

You know, the minute I wrote that "superhero" line, the rest of the fic just slotted into place. It was the key moment and I'm always excited when someone mentions it in their comment! :D

And of course I'm thrilled to hear that the whole thing left you giggling. Fics for this pairing really need to have a lot of humor, so reports like that are always the most satisfying. ^__^ Normally one has to be mindful not make the characters too witty or clever, but with pairings like this --- and Basil/Ratigan, too --- I can write the most elaborate, intricate banter and totally get away with it because that's just the way they TALK. XD

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that Megamind was raised in a prison!! I go out of my way to mention it, just because I think it's the perfect goldmine of material. So glad that you enjoy it, too!

HOLY cow. This was awesome. I really liked their bantering, and Megamind is totally adorable. I liked all the details of their usual, public personas and how it contrasted with their private feelings for each other.
And the cuddling at the end made me happy. The sex was hot, too. :)
