First off, I've been slacking in the world of the internet, having rather a crappilicious connection here BUT I must send a happy birthday to three of my favorite people in the world.

Person number Awesome:
His name on the internet is mister-punchy. His real name is HOLY CRAP WHY WON'T THIS GUY MOVE TO NY SO WE CAN ALL SPEND MORE TIME WITH HIM. He has a ( Read more... )

She was so great! Super friendly and awesome. After we met her, I think we all would have cried if she said she didn't want to move in!

It also works out well, because we have a lot of extra furniture since Natalie can't bring it back to France. Perfect for someone moving from Canada with no bed!

I think we sealed the deal when she realized we had birds. Did I ever even mention that we had two zebra finches...now three since they just had a baby? I was so busy talking about almost-eels that I forgot to tell the girl who loves birds that for the first time in my life I have birds!

Three years of removing the brains of zebra finches makes me really want to urge you to feed them to your eel-analogue. They're cute, but dumb as rocks.

But they are like rocks that fly!

I had a cool pet rock named "Philadelphia" once. (get it "rocky" "philadelphia"...yeah, even as a little kid I was a big ol' dork). Philly was cool but he only flew once....um, when I hit my sister with him. I think my parents put him to sleep shortly thereafter.

Dude! Congrats! Sucks that we're jobless & couldn't move in. (though Matt might not be? He's on a two week trial period dealie & then might get it if they like what he does.) On the plus side though, I found out that my best friend is moving back to even closer to my house than she was before, so it ended up working out pretty awesomely, what with the lack of hippies & murderers & all.

Would you be up for some screening next week? If so, I'll get on the art-producing phase tonight!

Woo for matt's new job! Thats awesome. Also so good to hear about your best friend, since I was rather bummed out I got the "no" from my roommies about you two.

I'm totally up for screening next week. I'm going upstate for a few days, but I should be back in town by Thursday, so maybe Thursday or Friday or something?

Thanks for typing some of the coolest things anyone has ever typed about me. Nobody's joining in on my infectious meme so I needed attention.

The problem with your meme is you are too damn good a writer. It's almost impossible to mimic your style. I still keep toying with attempting. If I want another break from painting my wall today I'll totally take you up on the challenge!

tattoofiend is the most amazing tattoo artist in the damn country, and she has a shop in Park Slope (in the former McSweeney's store space on 7th Ave). Also, she's an amazingly smart, kind and funny woman--plus, she's married to an actual Sherpa, how cool is that?

Her website is chicksdigtattoos.com.

Sweeeet thanks for the tip!

Hey so I've got me a lunch date tomorrow, but perhaps later in the afternoon we can meet up for the coffee stuff (or in my case the vanilla milkshake stuff.)

Your birthday post makes me want to have my birthday now, RIGHT NOW, just to hear you say sappy-ass wonderful things about me, too! And considering it's a scary almost-30 birthday coming up, that's a really high compliment to your compliments!

I love that you're having a great rebellious vacation. What's the tatoo gonna be?

Well I desperately want that "connect the dots" giraffe thing, but I can't decide if it's better to do it now or at the end of the whole project. It really would have been best to have gotten the tatoo when I was looking for the giraffe, but I was too darn broke at that point.

Now I'm not quite sure what I want. It sounds silly but I'm always toying with the idea of getting short arm sleeves to cover my arm scars. I mean I always hide those at work functions anyway, at least now I would be able to wear tanks in the summer again! I've always really wanted some sort of fish tattoo, but I haven't found one I love yet. I also always toy with getting a more kids book specific tatoo, but there's nothing that comes to mind instantly.

Suggestions?

(also I promise to write sappy-ass wonderful things about you next year. I mean I think them already, but it would be nice to spread my thoughts out in the open!)
