In an epiphany-filled experience similar to the time I discovered my favorite color was actually red, not purple (my life is peppered with amazing spontaneous adventures of just this sort), I recently treated myself to a meal out and my life was altered because of it ( Read more... )

you couldn't get a different side than broccoli?

Also... YAY. I <3 Mur steak (tis how its pronounced in "the biz". As a girl who works in a steak restaurant, I unfortunately know how weird some people eat steak. People will order well done Prime Rib and then get ketchup (or... RANCH) to dip it in cause the meat doesn't have any flavor itself. DUH.

They tricked me! They said "seasonal vegetables" and I didn't think to ask what was in season. D:

Huzzah! I am glad you have left the world of overcooked shoeleather steak! Medium rare ftw.

And now I am exceedingly hungry.

Yay! I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago (Rob can take credit for this!) I had never been fond of steak, but I'd always had it well done, the way my dad likes it. Once I tried a medium-rare steak I was hooked. I crave them periodically :look

I also had a colour revelation - that red, not blue, is my favourite colour. I'm actually really starting to love green as well, which I never liked! The amazing things that happen as you get older :D

O_o

I'm extremely curious now, because that's pretty much exactly my opinion of steak. Your pre-medium-rare exposure.

I might have to try one.

For New Years I went to my Grandma's friends place for dinner. They made this roast and it came out really pink. I cut around the edges and tried not to gag at the pink parts. I just...can't...eat pink meat. No go. :x

Yay for you though! I still enjoy my meat at least medium well :D
