I loved the Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies, but I haven't read the Liveship Traders. I'll have to give it a try.

Are those the Soldier Son books? I had been eyeing those. I'm a little disappointed to hear about the political orientation, but I'll give them a shot anyway.

The Liveship Traders have so far been my favorites of hers. A lot of really innovative world aspects, and I really liked the character development. Good stuff. I know dissertation writing is going to be eating a lot of your time soon, but if you get a chance to pick them up, I'd love to know what you think!

Soldier's son is actually quite good. It's politics are ambiguous, and not in your face, and she is very thoughtful.

That is AWESOME. Seeing my friends would have brought me up to Conestoga no matter what, but hearing that she's going to be there is a fantastic perk!

(Hee hee. "Perk" always gives me funny mental images.)
