Remember the Wicked Pretty Things debacle? Of course you do. Jessica Verday has now decided what to do with the story she refused to straightwash: "I'm extremely grateful to be able to say that my short story 'Flesh Which Is Not Flesh' (Cameron and Wesley's story) is now available as an eBook on Amazon, and from now through August 31, 50% of the ( Read more... )

Seconded. So many interesting things, and then I got to the cupcakes, and everything else was "FAZSHOOMED" out of my brain like in that Eddie Izzard stand-up bit about name-forgetting.

The real question is- how was the red velvet? I judge all cupcake places by their red velvet. It's the only cupcake I will even consider eating at Sprinkles.

Is there any way to buy "Flesh Which Is Not Flesh" without owning a Kindle or downloading the Kindle program onto my computer, or do I have to suck it up and stop being a Luddite?

That's what I'm wondering too- I have no Kindle, but I must read. :/

I believe you have to download the Kindle program. I don't know of any other way to read a Kindle book other than to have a Kindle/use the program on your computer. Same as if it were the Nook from Barnes & Noble or any other e-reader. Short of it being a PDF you can pay for at another site, I think the program is required.

Maybe Calibre could convert it to epub (or another format)? I don't have a Kindle and haven't yet had a reason to try converting in or out of the Kindle format.

I don't even like cupcakes all that much, but the banana split one still looks amazing.

My editor's soul agonizes over "Devil’s food cake with dark chocolate chips filled with marshmallow cream" (how can you fill chocolate chips with marshmallow cream??) but my sweet tooth CRAVES IT.

Editors of the world, unite! :D

I confess, I didn't even read it that closely, or I might have had the same reaction. But, as it is past 2am here, I think I may have succeeded in switching my editor-brain off, for once! ;)

How good would marshmallow-cream-filled chocolate chips BE? ;D OM NOM NOM!
