America.  Freedom of speach, freedom of choice, acceptance, understanding.  But only when I agree with it!  That is what banning books says to me.  I encourage people who don't like an idea behind a book to simply not buy the book.  To blog about the reasons they disagree with the book.  To teach their own children why they disagree with a book.  ( Read more... )

As I floated upward from sleep this morning I thought, “I have to take the finger out of the dike.”  Then I woke up.  Being a holiday, I had the luxury of lying there with my eyes closed so I could figure out WHAT had sparked that thought.
