It's February 2010, which means my visa needs renewing. I finally managed to get all my papers in order last night, and I went to the immigration office today. I'm leaving for Canada today. It will be my first trip back in two years. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be back on the 6th of January.

I'm back. It was a good trip. Two days in Hokkaido, where I could experience some slightly colder temperatures for a change. It was around 2 or 3°C, much cooler than Tokyo's current 9-14 range.

We're going to Sapporo and Otaru tomorrow for the weekend. Kana had some airmiles that were going to expire, so we decided to use them. It was enough for one person's flight, so we just had to pay for the second flight and hotel.

I've never been to Hokkaido before so it should be nice. I'm looking forward to having some crab.

We've moved to a new apartment. It's located in Ayase, which is a little further out, in the northeast of Tokyo. We previously lived right downtown, which was convenient of course, but more expensive. This new place is larger, and as a result more comfortable. We both have longer commutes now though.

I slipped on a curved and uneven staircase in the rain, and when I tried to catch myself I accidentally ended up landing with most of my weight on my left index finger, fracturing a bone (maybe two?). Makes it hard to write and do stuff. It's a relatively small thing, so the doctor says it should heal in 2 or 3 weeks. I'm looking forward to that

The free internet access terminals at Athens airport are stupid and don't work very well. They have a custom menu bar with useful links like to gmail, windows live, etc., but clicking on them usually results in a java error. I got a 78 on the Japanese test. I was hoping for at least 80% so I was disappointed. It's still a clear pass though.

My friend and his girlfriend have come to Japan for my wedding, and they've been here since Friday. We've been going around and checking stuff out but it has been a little tiring.

Wedding plans are almost done.

Yesterday was our one year anniversary. We went out to the restaurant where the wedding will be and tried out the food. We got it half price because we had scheduled this food testing as part of the wedding plans. It was not bad.

On Friday night at around 1 am I noticed some kind of alarm in the hallway and could people yelling. I look out of my peephole to figure out what is going on and can't see anything. It tends to fog up in the winter, so I try to wipe it but I still can't see anything, so I open the door and the hallway is filled with smoke so thick I can barely see ( Read more... )
