This is wonderful! I can well imagine that Boromir would feel very out of place in Rivendell, especially after the Council.

Well, Aragorn is a total jerk to Boromir in that scene with the sword! I always thought that scene in the extended version explained the bit where the sword falls and Boromir appears to be scornful, which to me was very OOC for Boromir.

What a lovely first chapter of a new story to read by you before heading off to bed. I like aprilkat, am quite delighted you have chosen to write this because there are so few fics with Boromir and Frodo in Rivendell. I loved the interaction between these two, especially when Frodo was embarrassed and shy to ask Boromir for help to reach the book he wanted to read. I could feel and sympathize with Frodo for not wanting Boromir to doubt he will be able to do the task of taking the Ring to Mount Doom. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you! Yes, there are almost no fics with Boromir and Frodo in Rivendell. I wrote one a long time ago, but I'm hoping this one will be better! :-) And thank you for reading! *hugs*
