Surprise! Another fic...I wanted to originally condense this into a short story, but I realized that the way I wanted this to develop was much slower than a short story could warrant ( Read more... )

I'm really glad that you have chosen to write this.

As I was reading, I realized that I had almost never read anything dealing with Boromir in Rivendell, and certainly nothing involving Frodo. I was thoroughly charmed by your presentation of Boromir dressed casually and at ease, which again I don't remember seeing in a fic.

Boromir's resemblance to Frodo in this scene made my breath catch, for some reason. And it made it understandable that Frodo felt comfortable enough to approach him, since he's barefooted, not in uniform, and reading a book. Both of them feel a little bit out-of-place and ungainly. Frodo's empathy with Boromir's feeling alone is promising, too, as well as Boromir's appreciation of Frodo's kin.

I hope this turns into a nice long fic with much interaction between Frodo and Boromir (especially of the intimate kind!). The closer they are before they leave Rivendell, the more resonance and pain it will lend our view of Amon Hen.

Your perceptive feedback is always so lovely and luxurious to me!! *hugs* Thank you! Yes, I think it will be nice and slow moving, which is why I didn't want to rush it into one short story! :-)

What a marvelous thing it would be, to see such a powerful man swing a sword in practice.

Hah, I'll bet he would!

I love this "two fish out of water" scenario. Thanks, Claudia!

Oh, I'm fairly certain that sooner or later, Frodo's going to see that sword. *wink, wink* ;-) Thanks!!
