I like to think that Bret Vyon, the almost-companion from the early episodes of The Daleks' Masterplan played by Nicholas Courtney, is a direct descentant of the Brig - but the fact that his sister was played by Jean Marsh and that she played Morgaine in this always leads me to a joke about wondering if something happened while the cameras weren't looking that Doris should worry about. :P

I'm glad to see you've enjoyed this. Seven is love, Ace is love, the Brig is love, Bambera/Ancelyn is love, and cheesetastic Seven!era serials are all-round cracky love. :D

Oh man, I had NO idea that Jean Marsh had played Sara Kingdom until I watched the special features on the DVD. Or that Nick Courtney played her brother (I knew he was in something pre-Brig, but could never remember what until now). Yeah, it does make you wonder, doesn't it. (then again, the universe is a big place, maybe some descendants in-between met up somewhere...)

Yes, I can tell that Seven and I are going to get along very nicely. And I'm going to be watching his stuff all this week, albeit just the final season.

Yeah, who knows what Ancelyn was up to after this serial? One of his descendants could have met one of the Brig's descendants somewhere along the way.

There are some really good stories in his final season - Survival is particularly dear to me, and I really like the Master in it (I've read somewhere that it was in this one that Anthony Ainley was finally able to play the Master the way he always wanted).

Oh yeah, and I forgot to add my own Doctor-rating list:

One: Really like.
Two: MY DOCTOR.
Three: Love.
Four: Really like.
Five: Like.
Six: Love (and am very protective of).
Seven: Love.
Eight: Love.
Nine: Love.
Ten: Like (though sometimes he makes me want to pull a Donna and slap him silly).
Eleven: Love.

I have a funny feeling that one day I'm going to regret not picking up that Target novelization of Curse of Fenric. You just don't SEE those anymore. And I hear that that story was really good (just a few more days...). Also, can't wait to see Ainley!Master again. I've only seen him in Time-Flight so far and he seemed somewhat misplaced there. I have great confidence in Survival, though.

Don't worry, I've still got most of Six's tenure to go. I'm really looking forward to Trial of a Time Lord and The Two Doctors. Also, I MUST get a hold of some of Six's audio dramas eventually. I hear nothing but amazing things about them. I do have the song from Doctor Who and the Pirates on my iPod though, because...oh god the WIN.

Ah yes, that theme variation that I hate and the logo that is so PAINFULLY '80s. This is going to grow on me eventually, isn't it?
Yes. I hated it too at first, and now it's one of my favourites 8D Although the logo is still painfully '80s.

"Ace...one of these days we're going to have a nice, long talk about acceptable safety standards." Get on that. You've got 3.5 serials left.
Well, she doesn't leave him after the last episode, so he's got a lot more time 8D Though I don't think they ever did have that talk, 'cause I've read Lungbarrow, and she's still carrying explosives around in that one. And that's after she left him.
She's also riding a time-travelling motorbike.
But.
Yeah.

And then there was a helis'plosion!
You and your s'plosions.

So, here's my Doctor-rating so far:

One: Really like.
Two: Love.
Three: Love.
Four: Love.
Five: Love.
Six: May grow on me later.
Seven: Love.
Eight: Only one left to see.Oooh, Ranking The Doctors 8D For me it's ( ... )

Things in this show just have a habit of growing on me. That's why I'm convinced that I'll like Six properly eventually. Right now I'm still teetering between the only 2 serials of his I've seen: one that I liked and one that I didn't. Still really looking forward to Mark of the Rani, The Two Doctors, and Trial of a Time Lord though...

Oh man, Lungbarrow is available as an e-book on the BBC website. And the original Human Nature. I REALLY need to read those eventually.

Yes. I like my s'plosions. :3

Two has a very strange place in my rankings. I LOVE his portrayal of the Doctor while I'm not particularly fond of his serials (with the HUGE exception of The Mind Robber. Although, to be fair, I've only seen about 4 Troughton stories so far). I'm still trying to figure out if this is also the case with Hartnell, which is why I put him under "really like." And I have a funny feeling I'm going to have the same reaction to McGann as you did. Also AHFDKLDHSFLDHSALKFHADSLFHSAL NEED TO GET HANDS ON BIG FINISH AUDIOS OH MY GOD. There's a comic ( ... )

The Two Doctors is... idk, it's PURE AWESOME and WTFISEVENHAPPENING at the same time.
And it has strangely tall Sontarans. But I've never seen a Classic Sonataran serial, so maybe they were always that tall?

Lungbarrow is made of win. Too bad it's not canon |:
At least, I don't think it is... Would be awesome if it was.

I've only seen three Second Doctor serials (The Mind Robber, Tomb of the Cybermen and The Two Doctors), and I loved all of them c: Plus, Jamie = <3 ( ... )

I saw a special about the Troughton years hosted by Jon Pertwee (shows you how long ago this was) on YouTube the other night and when he was talking about Two's final appearance, they showed his departure scene from The Two Doctors. It solidified even more firmly in my mind that Two/Jamie is OTP ("After you, Doctor." "No, Jamie, after you!" Also, Two looked jealous when Jamie kissed Peri on the cheek. :B)

I've only seen one Classic Sontaran serial (The Sontaran Experiment) and the alien soldier in question was able to match pretty well with Tom Baker. So mayb they were just taller back then ( ... )

Seven = BEST EVAR. You have reminded me that I need to watch Battlefield again.

When you get up to The Curse of Fenric, you shall have even more fun. :D :D :D

FTW! That's all I have to say about this episode. Well, actually, I have a lot to say, i just don't know what. Ace is epic fucking win. No wonder this is one of your favorite serials.

P.S. Arthur + Morgaine = OTP (Which is a little bit creepy in my books, but oh well.)

I'd been debating which serial to buy next, and this decided for me. I AM EXCITED TO WATCH THIS. It sounds EPIC. Plus, THE BRIG. I haven't watched a UNIT serial in AGES.

I have no more words. I am just excited.
