The Two Doctors is... idk, it's PURE AWESOME and WTFISEVENHAPPENING at the same time.
And it has strangely tall Sontarans. But I've never seen a Classic Sonataran serial, so maybe they were always that tall?

Lungbarrow is made of win. Too bad it's not canon |:
At least, I don't think it is... Would be awesome if it was.

I've only seen three Second Doctor serials (The Mind Robber, Tomb of the Cybermen and The Two Doctors), and I loved all of them c: Plus, Jamie = <3
Oh, and I've seen The Five Doctors too. Which was awesome.
BIG FINISH AUDIOS ARE TOO AWESOME TO BE TRUE. LIKE. ADSHLFSD. You should really try to get your hands on some. I've listened to Scherzo, Shada, Storm Warning and Zagreus so far. Scherzo was... disturbing. But awesome at the same time. You've seen the original Shada, so you know what it's like (the Eighth version is pretty cool :D). Storm Warning is the first one with Charley as a companion, and was pretty fun. Zagreus is creepy/awesome/epic. Though I probably should've listened to some of the serials before that one, 'cause I didn't really get the anti-time stuff. But still. IT HAS FIVE AND SIX AND SEVEN TOO. Heeeeeee.

YES ZAGREUS IS THE ONE WITH EVIL!BRIG!TARDIS. AND HE WAS EVIL. AND THE BRIG. AND THE TARDIS.
Which is kind of weird because isn't the TARDIS female?

Oh pfff, continuity... Remembrance was my first Classic serial, and I still understood what was happening.
Though reading up on Dalek history on the Internet might have helped.

OMG LOL WTF.
WAS THAT NICHOLAS COURTNEY? AND ANTHONY AINLEY?
Brb, lol'ing forever.

I saw a special about the Troughton years hosted by Jon Pertwee (shows you how long ago this was) on YouTube the other night and when he was talking about Two's final appearance, they showed his departure scene from The Two Doctors. It solidified even more firmly in my mind that Two/Jamie is OTP ("After you, Doctor." "No, Jamie, after you!" Also, Two looked jealous when Jamie kissed Peri on the cheek. :B)

I've only seen one Classic Sontaran serial (The Sontaran Experiment) and the alien soldier in question was able to match pretty well with Tom Baker. So mayb they were just taller back then.

I'm probably going to be doing the McGann Shada later this week, because I'm working my way through McCoy's last season, then to the TV movie, so I figured I'd get that out of the way before my memory of the original Shada dulls too much.

And yes, I believe the TARDIS has been officially established as female. Taken to an interesting extreme in "The Forgotten" (don't know if you've read that comic, but it makes Doctor/TARDIS even more OTP. Oh god, I have too many OTPs for this fandom...)

I recognized Nick's voice but AINLEY? I DID NOT NOTICE. And I really should've, considering that lyric mentioned "the Brigadier and the Master." But then again, in my mind, Master - beard = John Simm. And and and AINLEY DIDN'T HAVE A BEARD WHAT.

Two/Jamie is so OTP. Though Jamie was totally hitting on Peri.
But then, everyone seems to be hitting on Peri.

Oh god, I watched the TV movie again yesterday. It's weird seeing McGann, instead of just hearing his voice. BUT HE'S SO ADORABLE IN THE MOVIE OH GODDD.

Sorry, extreme fangirling over McGann there.

DOCTOR/TARDIS IS ALSO OTP YES. I mean. Eleven called her sexy. And he said 'Thanks, dear' when she gave him his new sonic screwdriver. IT IS CANON.
Yes, too many OTPs.
Eleven/Rory is another one 8D In a bromance sort of way. (Roooryyy D:)

BEARDLESS AINLEY IS SO WEIRD. I seriously did a double take.
Mustacheless!Brig is also weird.

Seems like you'd be hard pressed to find a male character (other than the Doctor of course, unless you count all those promo photos where they look so d'aaawwwww together) that DOESN'T hit on Peri. I've only seen her in three serials, but ALL of them had someone who made some sort of remark about Peri's hotness. I think we just need to resign ourselves to the fact that Nicola Bryant has hypnoboobies and there's nothing we can do about that. Even Peter Davison remarked on them being a distraction during his regeneration scene.

By all means, fangirl away. I've had many a moment where I'll be staring at promo shots for the movie and going "omg MCGANN WHY ARE YOU SO PRETTY." I watched Withnail & I over Spring Break primarily so I could see something of his before I saw the Doctor Who movie (and also because I'd heard it was really good). About partway through, I remembered that Richard E. Grant had played non-canon Doctors twice (a Nine and a Ten), so I spent a lot of the rest of it thinking "the Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Doctors are living together with only two people what. (And for srys, Richard E. Grant holy balls why are you so damn awesome)

Listen, I squeed hard (in my mind, because I was with a friend) when "oh, you sexy thing" happened. Because yes. And I was thinking the same thing with Rory when he and the Doctor were arguing about rescuing Amy in The Hungry Earth, but in the sense of "but Rory doesn't count as a regular companion because he wasn't around for a whole season and he's not Jamie or Turlough etc etc..." Seriously, we need another full-time male companion. Jack and Rory were great but...can't they stick around longer?

HYPNOBOOBIES. Oh god. Poor Fivey.
I usually get distracted by her clothes. So. Painfully. '80s. I mean, at least Tegan's outfits weren't always that horrible (I want the jacket Tegan wears in Mawdryn Undead and Terminus. I just - I just want it for some reason.)

Ahhh, Whitnail & I, I still need to see that! I need more McGann anyway. I DEMAND A MULTI-DOCTOR STORY WITH EIGHT. Pleeeease Moffat? He just needs more screentime. And. And he's just awesome. And I would like to see him together with Eleven :D

I knoooowww. Though Rory is probably back for the finale. BUT STILL.
I want a companion that lasts more than one series anyway.
Actually... I think Karen Gillan IS in series 6... Hmmm. We can has Rory too?

I get distracted by her clothes a lot too. The '80s-ness burns me. Also she tucks her shirt into her shorts a lot, which is something I used to do and now I shudder at every picture where I'm dressed like that.

You need to see Withnail & I. It's a good time. Although I can't help but feel like there was some deeper message about the times that went over my head because I didn't live in the 1980s (or '60s, which is when it takes place). Someone makes some profound remark that "the greatest decade in human history has ended" near the end of the movie. I hope McGann gets to come back too, although I remember reading somewhere that McGann had said that if he ever did come back to Doctor Who, he didn't want to wear a wig (which would equal Eight with much less hair).

Season 6 is going to be the first time in New Who that we get the same Doctor and companion for two seasons. Maybe we'll get someone new to join in as well? Maybe...

LOL OMG WATCHING WHITNAIL AND I AND THEN 'ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER' STARTED PLAYING AND I GOT BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FLASHBACKS.
I like version they play in BSG more than the original, teehee.
BECAUSE IT'S PRETTY.

Maybe he should just let his hair grow longer, so he doesn't have to wear a wig 8D Or else they can just say that Eight got sick of his haircut and fancied a change.
Or they force him to wear a wig.
I don't care, I just want more Eight.

Maybe RORY COMES BACK.
BECAUSE HE IS NOT DEAD.
I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT.

So what was your reaction when you realized that Harry's Uncle Vernon was hitting on Eight? (Also, Richard E. Grant FTW, Y/Y?)

I'm planning on watching the BBCi Shada right after the TV movie, which I'm not quite that happy about since that means I'll be doing all my Eight watching at once. Still, I want to do the McGann Shada sooner rather than later before the details of the original slip my mind too much (I'll be doing a lot of comparisons). I would've done it right after the original, but I'd promised to do Arc of Infinity next and Shada was just a detour (because I didn't know that they'd released the unfinished footage and had NO idea I'd run across it online).

omg. Just next week's episode and then the season finale. THIS SEASON WENT BY FAST.

OH GOD YES. I was like "Wait... Is that... Nooo, it can't be - OMG YES IT IS." And then McGann got half raped and I was scared.
Richard E. Grant is amazing. Somebody give that man an Oscar.

There's still the Big Finish audios :D

I knoooow, it's going so fast! I don't want it to end D:

That scene makes my head explode. And I really need to watch Scream of the Shalka (it's on my definite list of "specials" to watch) because I need to see animooted!Grant as the Doctor and his sexbot!Master.

I'm afraid the tall Sontarans in The Two Doctors was indeed a casting error, as stated in the DVD extras. As early as their first appearance (in The Time Warrior - which, to this day, has the coolest-looking Sontaran face ever, thanks to a great job in make-up) it's stated that Sontarans are short and bulky because of their planet's gravity. The fact that the same actor played the lead Sontaran in every '70s story they appeared helped to maintain that impression.

In the original Human Nature novel, the TARDIS reveals her human form and it's indeed female - a brunette called Verity, in fact.

Oh, it's a great story - even if you don't like the overall feel of it, at least you can appreciate if for Sarah Jane's debut.

I have the feeling book!Verity was based on Verity Lambert, hence her being a brunette. :D

If you don't mind reading things in a digital format, you can get it from the BBC website.
