WHO: Orihime, Axel, Roxas WHAT: Trying to help someone out lands Orihime in hot water. What to do? Run like crazy! WHEN: May 29, 2008 - Evening WHERE: Clairbourn Streets
Axel poked through another box of clothes, looking for a tee shirt that Orihime wouldn't end up swimming in. She had a pretty nice rack, but Axel had inordinately broad shoulders and a very long torso and most of his clothes would have been approximately ten times too long for the girl. He finally managed to dig up an old shirt that was actually a little too short for him, and supposed that would suffice. At least she wouldn't be falling out of her blouse anymore

Chocolate chips on pizza? She'd never tried that before. Sweet bean paste, yes, but chocolate chips... Well why not? Cocoa was supposed to taste good when added to chili. And mole sauce had chocolate in it! If it worked for Mexican food, then why not Italian? Orihime visibly relaxed, glad to know they wouldn't suddenly get nauseated or angry if she made something unusual. She probably would. "Really? That sounds delicious!" Orihime beamed encouragingly. Had she noticed the hitch? It was entirely possible. She was far more perceptive than most people gave her credit, but if she heard, she didn't show any signs of doing so

"Well, okay then--but I've got shorts if you need them," Roxas insisted sternly, shaking a finger at her before jerking his head toward the door...and then immediately wishing he hadn't. "Shit!" announced the boy, putting a hand on his head and squeezing his eyes shut. "C'mon, let's...get some ice. Oh man."
He flashed a somewhat nervous grin at Axel before leading them all to the kitchen. If he hadn't lost his memories already, he wasn't just going to lose them suddenly, right? It was always a moment-of-impact thing, wasn't it? Or like in that movie, 50 First Dates, where you didn't remember anything afterward. "...Hope it's all still there when I wake up tomorrow," he confided in his friend as he dug in the freezer to fill up a ziploc bag for Orihime.
He didn't really want to admit it, but some part of him was flat-out terrified to forget everything again. So much, in fact, that he was considering not sleeping just to make sure his memories didn't go anywhere. "Remind me to never get punched in the head again," he lamented,

Axel sympathy-grimaced when Roxas swore and put a hand on his head, and waited for the boy to move through the doorway first, silently dragging the fingers of one long hand over his friend's shoulder as he passed, and then nodded for Orihime to follow him as the blond boy headed down the hall and down the stairs toward the kitchen.
Reaching up into the cabinet above the sink and retrieving a bottle of Aspirin, he waited for Roxas to give the Ziploc for Orihime, and then dumped two pills into his palm and snatched Roxas's wrist before the kid could move to fill up a bag for himself. "Better all still be there when you wake up tomorrow," he said softly, fiercely, his turquoise eyes severe as he pressed the Aspirin into Roxas's hand. Then he bumped the boy softly with his hip to nudge him out of the way as he grabbed a fistful of ice and shoved it into a second bag

Roxas had never felt so awkward in his life. Usually he was exceedingly laid back and chill, but the combination of nerves about possibly losing his memories again, weariness from the adrenaline wearing off...and oh yeah a girl on his bed just had him kind of edgy. He felt the inane urge to make conversation, and that hadn't happened since that one time in second grade when he'd been shoved into a broom closet with Janie Angelou during a fire drill. So uh, what's your dad do for a living?
He had a feeling that line of questioning wasn't really appropriate here.
Shifting where he sat at the foot of his own bed, he turned the ice pack with a bit of a grimace. "You sure are upbeat," he noted informatively. "It's like nothing ever gets you down. That's pretty cool. I try and be that way; usually works pretty well." He smirked a bit. "Axel's real laid back and snarky, so that's usually how I am too, but when things go wrong it really bothers him. I try and be kinda carefree about stuff, to make up for it, I guess

Orihime opened her mouth to protest that really, truly, she was okay with sleeping in her skirt. But she shut it again, because Axel was off, and he gave that aura of not accepting arguments of any kind. She smiled. Stubbornly kind... He was a good person. They both were! So, she followed Roxas back to his room, wondering if it was really okay. It was one thing to wake up there, and entirely another (she thought) to willingly walk inside. It almost felt like trespassing. She wondered what Tatsuki would say about it...if she /told/ Tatsuki, anyway. Orihime wasn't sure if she should or not, it would just upset her

Somehow, he relaxed at that, and even laughed, a lot of his tension gone. Maybe he was really just worried she'd feel all awkward around him or something. Axel was usually a lot better with the girls; Roxas tended to get kinda quiet when they were around, usually because Axel was there to pick up the slack. "Nah, there's not much to tell. You're welcome to know all there is about me, though--it's just not too exciting

Orihime laughed. The way Roxas talked, it sounded like Axel had a lot in common with Ichigo. "You guys seem really close! It's a really nice bond to see
