Lelouch threaded his way into the soup kitchen, looking a little irritated. He was dressed down for the day, but somehow his regal bearing got through. Two small presents were tucked under his arm.
Opening the door to the soup kitchen, he was faced with a horrifying sight: A dozen giggly teenage girls. Oh, and there was Maxwell, but still he was horrifyingly outnumbered.
Just as soon as Lulu had entered the cloud of young, female hormones, a couple of girls noticed and recognized him- some in a more friendly manner and some with a bit more detachment and perhaps even unease. But it didn't take long (with him being one of two guys there so far) for May to spot him and come bounding across the room. "LULUUUU!!" she shouted, running up to hug him with probably some unintended amount of tackle tossed into it as she skidded to a halt. "Thanks for coming to the party, Lulu! Oh, don't give that look, I swear we won't try to eatya or anythin'," she assured him, seeing the look on is face at all the girls. "Ok, you can do whatever, ya know? I should introduce you, though

/Merde, they're going to devour me, Jesus help oh help/ He was temporarily saved by May's glomp and he stumbled to regain his balance.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ms. Leap." He said, taking her hand and bowing, his aristocrat's training coming in to play.
Before his charm could have all of its intended effect, however, May, who seemed to enjoy abusing him, smacked him hard on the back and he stumbled forward into the crowd of girls, looking like a deer in headlights.
May could only laugh, half snickering from his little display of 'fancypants bowing' as she regarded it, and half in that evil sort of way that totally gave away that she was a sadist who enjoyed watching the cool and collected strategist be torn to pieces by a group of mere teenage girls. Mostly the latter. "Okay everyone, this is Lulu, he's an ally of ours, ya know? So be nice to him, okay?" The girls all leered and giggled, the various expected comments about his being cute murmuring through the crowd as a couple approached and began to greet him.
She almost would have felt bad if it weren't so damn funny.
Duo watched with a certain amount of amusement as Lelouch struggled to stay afloat in the wash of teenage estrogen that crowded around him. He leaned against one of the tables, kind of keeping away from the girls. They seemed like nice people, but the idea of that many of them scared him a little. That's why he was glad to be attached to the arm of their captain. Sometimes, being the pretty arm candy was fine with him.
"Hey, Princess," he leaned over, kissing May's cheek. "You sure it was a good idea to introduce that Lelouch guy to the Jellies? They look like they might eat him alive..." He glanced back across them again. "...A couple of them literally."
May snickered, leaning into his kiss. "Awww, he can handle himself, 'm sure! 'sides, they won't mess with him THAT bad.. .. ... well. Probably." There was a look of definite evil in her eyes as she watched, and it was really quite obvious that she had planned this from the start. "July looks like she might stab him though. Maybe I should stop her
( ... )
"Eh, she seems to be backing off a little..." Duo stopped as the high-pitched little voice called out. He watched with amazement and amusement as the awkward little girl it belonged to nonetheless weaved her way through the crowd. He felt like his teeth were gonna fall out, the girl was so adorable. He chuckled as May scooped her up, something in the back of his head wondering...
He grinned at the littlest pirate. "Hey there, March! I'm Duo, pleased to meetcha!" He offered his hand to her. "I hope May hasn't told you anything bad about me." He shot May a devilish grin.
The girl blinked her big eyes up at him for a moment before smiling, apparently knowing who he was and shaking his hand with her tiny one. "DOODY!" she giggled, throwing her arms up. "...... Uh, no, Marchy, it's Duey. You know, like the duck!" May corrected her, almost facepalming. "...hehheh, Doody." :D

Kula was a little late in arriving, mostly due to her trying to find a gift for May before she arrived. When she couldn't come up with something, she'd resigned herself to go without one... until a surprise call from Foxy got her not only a ride, but a gift perfect for the pirate girl. With a kiss on her other mother's cheek, she stepped out of the car, holding the somewhat large box with both hands while slamming the door shut with a bump from her hip.
Struggling with the door, she finally propped it open with her foot, and scooted herself inside, glancing around. She saw a large mass of girls on one side of the room, giggling as flocks of them were known to do. She resolved to stay away for the time being, instead looking for the orange-clad birthday girl.
"Ah... Miss May?" She called out, eyes scanning the room until she found her quarry. "Miss May! Happy Birthday!" She made her way over quickly, careful to avoid dropping her package.
Perking up at the sound of a new voice calling her name, May leaned forward from the table and broke out into a grin. "Kula!" she smiled, pushing off from the table and padding over towards Kula with a 'be right back' to Duo and April. "Thanks!! Glad you could come on such short notice! Ah- is.. that for me?" she stared in amazement at the large package, holding out her arms to take it. "H-here, lemme help ya out! Didja find the place okay?" She glanced over towards the group of girls, those on the outer edges noticing the new girl and regarding her with curious looks. "I'll introduce you to all my crew as soon as we set this down, 'kay?"
"Well...the officers are all units of time and girls...So perhaps I could be the absence of time...Zero?" He posited. He liked that, it just sounded right. "Oh, I forgot to give the captain her presents. I'll be right back." He extricated himself carefully from the mob that sorrounded him.
He turned and made towards where May and Duo were. Someone else was with them but he couldn't quite make out who at that angle, so he was fairly close when he saw her.
Lelouch's heart stopped for a second. There was no mistaking the long, ice blue hair, warm red eyes, pale skin. Little bombardments of emotion hit him succesively...surprise, guilt, fear, and a surpressed wish to be near her.
"Ah, yes, it's for you!" Kula beamed, easing the package into May's hands and helping her set it down. "I hope you like it, it was very hard to find something on such short notice. Foxy thought it would be perfect though!" Once it was settled onto a table, she giggled and hugged May. "Thank you so much for inviting me, Miss May! You've been really kind to me lately... and I think I really needed it. Thank you again." Her eyes were earnest in their happiness.
"Ah~ this is your 'crew?'" She looked around, paying more attention to the girls around the room. "They certainly seem like an energetic bunch!" As she said this, she heard a number of thumps as something hit the ground, turning to see what the commotion was...
It was fifteen minutes after the party's beginning that Trowa arrived.
There was a grim set to the line of his jaw and mouth as he walked through the doors. He halted a few feet in, staring around him at the explosion of bright colours and the throng of people. With a sigh, he rubbed at his eyes with the heel of his hand, before letting his arm fall to his side again. Face back to its customary blankness, aside from a slight tightness around his eyes, he scanned the room, noting the familiar faces, categorizing the unfamiliar ones.
Taking a step back, he leaned against the wall, arms folded, just waiting -- what for, he wasn't sure yet; an opening, a chance to say hello to May perhaps, or just to be noticed. The cloth bag he had been carrying he placed next to his left shoe.
Duo perked at the movement near the door, grinning when he saw the taller boy stepping in quietly... or maybe loudly, he couldn't tell over the noise of the girls. Either way, it was nice to see a sore thumb of familiarity among the bright colors of the attendees. He vaulted himself over a table and weaved his way through various partygoers to Number 3's position.
"Heya! Almost didn't expect you to come!" He grinned, grabbing Trowa's arm and pulling him into the 'I'm hugging you, but I'm still hitting you' guy-hug. He tilted his head to the table he had been standing at. "Thirsty? Mrs. Leap's made some pretty good punch. I think she used orange sherbet..." He threw his thumb back at May. "Yeah, it'd have to be orange, huh? Anyway, come on, sit down before you get accosted by more females. I swear, that Lelouch kid's gonna suffocate over there."
Standing steadily through the affection-meets-physical-abuse routine, Trowa patted Duo's back awkwardly before disentangling himself and picking up the bag again. "Lelouch and girls? I wouldn't have expected that to be a harmonious combination," he said in a monotone, face deadpan. "Sorry I'm late." He followed Duo as he spoke.
Finally extricating herself from the process of introducing her crew, May came squeaking over to the new attendee's position. "Heeey Trowa~! Glad ya could make it!" She gave an always-bright hug to the monotone, oblivious to any awkwardness it would cause. "Have fun, okay!?" A brush against Trowa's leg would reveal to be Janice, having caught wind of him and padded over from the back to greet him. "Tehe~ Janny really likes ya, huh?" she stooped down to scratch behind the cat's ears where the hat she wore would allow it. "Oh! Hey, Duey, April wantsya." She eyed him suspiciously, remembering what he'd asked her before. "Keepin' secrets, humph.." she muttered under her breath.
