We got back from Louisiana a little after 5:00 tonight. Corwin slept virtually the entire trip, so we made good time. He fell asleep quickly after we left around 10:30, and didn't wake up until we stopped for lunch at 12:45. Well, we have survived our trip to Slidell, Louisiana (whether we survive the trip home again remains to be seen). Corwin did pretty well in the car yesterday; we ended up stopping every 1.5 hours on average (sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more). I'm on baby duty tonight while Andrew is raiding in WoW. So far, Corwin's been asleep in his swing pretty much the entire time, so I've pumped milk, put away a load of laundry, and watched a couple episodes of Gilmore Girls. Remind us in future that the MS150 weekend is a bad time for a trip to Austin. Took us 4 1/2 hours to make the normally 3ish hour trip home. Part of that time was eaten up by feeding Corwin and waiting for him to poop, and then changing his explosive poopy diaper at the Dairy Queen in Columbus (which, by the way, was so busy that THEY RAN OUT OF ( Read more... )

Corwin was a real pill today, at least for the first part of the day. He woke up a little earlier than usual (8:45) and had pooped three times and peed on the wall by 9:30. Andrew and I are back from Austin now. This was a more mellow trip than we have had in a while. We arrived at my parents' house Friday evening close to 8:00, after a drive made longer and more stressful than usual by lightning storms and very heavy rainfall along the way.
