Dude, I need to call you, and we need to have a little chat about a lady named Lara Croft and her 'fascist' tendencies. >_< AAAAGH, THE PEOPLE IN MY FEMINIST ART THEORY CLASS ARE DUMB!!!
...fascist? I'm not all that thrilled of Lara being the number one most recognizable female character in the gaming world, but I don't think I'd call her a fascist.
Call me tonight? My pile of Japanese is actually a little smaller than usual, so I should have time to talk!
Okay! I have a dinner-y Halloween-thingy from 5-7, and then I'm taking a friend to Goodwill for a last-minute Halloween costume (hahaha........ the cosplayer in me was too appalled at the lack of costume on freaking HALLOWEEN), but after that I should be able to call you~
It's called "Game Over", and it was, admittedly, kind of interesting...as a historical piece. The games it used as examples were laughably old, and they referenced the fact that video game violence could never be put in context because video games could never be used to tell a story!
Second of all, I believe this fact to be true: the world is out to get gamers. I will not deny that violent video games have an effect on desensitizing children. However, all games are rated appropriately, and if a ten year old is playing a game labeled for a seventeen year old, I fail to see how the game or its creators are at fault.
Funny you should mention uber old school crap games from the 90s. Because in the past five or so years, the crime rate has actually decreased as video games have gotten more popular and more graphic and realistic.
Video games are not the cause. I think they're more of a catalyst.
