Dear Sophomore Girls,
Contrary to your statements in class, video games do not (and I quote) "...make children stupid." If you had stepped near a console or a computer within the last decade, you would know that video games no longer consist solely of you trying to jump barrels and defeat a monkey for points. They actually improve a number of cognitive skills, such as visual/spatial acuity and problem solving. You would also know that there is actually a social aspect to games, because they have this nifty little feature where you can, oh, I don't know, play with other people.
Oh, and hey, you know how you said that video games are just a form of entertainment that require no actual thought from the player, and that video games deaden creativity? I really should show you around this nifty little place, we call it fandom? You might like it.
Also, the reason that we gamers get defensive? It's because you outright call us shut-ins who live in our mom's basements and have no realistic concept outside world, and then think it's not an insult. And the reason I get mad? Is because you tell me that, since I'm a girl who also enjoys video games, I don't exist.
