Its not selfish. Choosing not to bring a child into this overpopulated world is actually one of the best things you can do for the environment and the planet. Especially if you live in a developed country.
I wouldn't say it's selfish to not want kids, but selfish of others to expect you to have them in order to satisfy their own expectations of the world. Unfortunately most people in society still unconciously confirm to 'gender roles' and think all women just lurve babies and want nothing more than to become mommies. Thankfully this opinion seems to be disappearing in the country where I live, albeit not nearly fast enough. Having children is not all women were made to do, and there's far more to life than popping out sprogs. Stick to your guns, ocean-freedom, and don't let others bully you because you're doing what you want. <3 *hugs*
Existence of universal plan ---> no existentional questions (like "what's the meaning of life?") ---> comfort.
People willingly NOT following the "universal plan" ---> maybe not so universal??? ---> existentional questions ---> discomfort ---> shout until they shut up!!!
Hm, "selfish"... I perceive the word like something positive:-) I even used "selfless" as a term of abuse, without really thinking about that.

And the people who attack you the most with the 'but you MUST have children!' are the ones really unhappy with their choice to breed.
And of course being childfree automatically equals child-molesting-baby-killing-forced-aborting-asshole..
And errr...unscreen your replies btw.
