Took my love to the airport this morning at about 4:40. Just as I pulled up to drop him off there, my left front tire went woobita woobita and was absolutely flat. The airport service truck tried to fill it, but it was pretty much shredded. I went to put on the donut spare but couldn't get the lug nuts undone. The smaller of the two service guys ( Read more... )

Frankly I doubt it, airfares being what they are. Neither one of us is exactly well-to-do. He could probably get to whre you are, though, if he misses the lights of Portland. *smile*

So this job he got with the monks is where? No cell phone? How did he get that? I never knew anyone who did anything like that. Interesting.

The time will fly by.

He is going to be cooking at Dorje Denma Ling in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. It's allied with Gampo Abbey, which is home to one of the most famous Buddhist nuns in the world, Pema Chodron.

He has talked about making a lengthy retreat ever since I've known him, whether at Mt. Angel Abbey in Oregon with the Trappists or in some Buddhist establishment. He got the opportunity because he knows a man who works there, with whom he shared some Buddhist practice in Portland. They cooked together at the Buddhist retreat center in BC last December, and this represents a step up for both of them.

He chose to get out of his Sprint agreement rather than pay big bucks for international service. He can still call me on his friend Ron's phone, and I'll see him online. Hard to hold his hand there, though.

Wow, how interesting. I had no idea they even had nuns. I guess I will have to re-think your love. I just get mad at him because he treats you badly IMHO, but I should know you would not love someone who was just that shallow, so now you have opened my old jaundiced eyes.

*smile* yeah, I know you get all protective and stuff, and I love you for it. He's a pretty complicated man, and I am proud to see how he has grown since we've known one another.

You also only get my side of any story, and I use my journal to bitch and moan -- remember to take that with a grain of salt.
